With number one goalkeeper Manuel Almunia out injured, deputy Lukasz Fabianski is hoping to use this as an opportunity to show Arsenal fans what he can do.
The Polish international, signed on so much promise, has yet to live up to the hype surrounding his reputation, and has instead been nicknamed 'Flappianski' for the number of errors he's made in crucial matches.
But the weekend's performance against City saw a more determined Fabianski, one that made some crucial saves to allow his team to record only their second away win in the league since March this year.
Fabianski said: "I've had a small run of matches and I think I'm pretty confident on the pitch now.
"I think it's always good for a keeper that he plays regularly and hopefully I can continue improving."
Manager Arsène Wenger added: "From game to game he shows what we see in training.
"Sometimes in our job you have to be steady and fight against opinions. It's easier for you when you know the player has the talent and I believe he has the talent.
"I never say that definitely [that Fabianski will stay in the team] because you always want the freedom to change when it is needed.
"But at the moment looking at his performances you can absolutely not fault him at all."
