Bacary Sagna has revealed his joy at scoring only his second goal for Arsenal, a thunderous finish that helped the side to a 2-1 win over Everton.
The right-back scored his only other Arsenal goal in March 2008, but the Gunners finished on the losing side to Chelsea that day as their title challenge collapsed.
This time, however, Sagna's was glad to help Arsenal win the game, and thinks it was an important result in their title bid for this year.
He said: "I feel great about it because I haven't scored for a long time and overall it helped the team to win the game.
"Apart from this goal, I think we played well and deserved to win. It was a very difficult game. It is not easy here but if we want to win something, we have to win these kind of games.
"The title race is very tight - we are very close to the top of the league and not far from the opponents. But we need to think about our team and not about the others, play our game and we will see the points total at the end."
Arsenal have an improved record away from home this season, and Sagna believes it is a real boost to be able to grind out results on the road.
He added: "We know if we want to be successful and competitive, we want to take maximum points away.
"That's what we have missed over the past few years but we know we can win games now, even against big opponents. So we just need to play game after game and give the maximum."
