Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has earned praise for his display in his first competitive match since breaking his leg.
The young Welshman made his comeback for the Arsenal Reserves after ten months out, and is now continuing his rehabilitation on loan at Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.
Ramsey came on as a substitute in Forest's defeat to Leicester City, and manager Billy Davies praised the 19-year-old for adding some quality to their game.
He said: "We needed to show a variety of passing in possession, but we did not do enough to cause problems. But you could see the difference when Ramsey comes on, then we started to play a little bit better.
"Once he came on, he gave us the quality that we needed. He has outstanding quality, there is no doubt about that.
"Even in a half-fit Ramsey, it is easy to see the quality he has got. We will keep working with him but he is still short of fitness."
Gunners boss Arsène Wenger explained the decision to loan out Ramsey, saying: "He is fit but not competitively match-fit.
"I decided to give him a run in the Championship and if he manages to play four or five out of the seven he will be fit to play for us.
"We were a bit pushed by the deadline. To do it before Christmas we had to do it last week so I rushed a bit my decision but it was the only opportunity."
