Walcott urges caution on Twitter

Striker Theo Walcott has conceded that he doesn't get the whole social media craze surrounding Facebook and Twitter, but urged players who participate to be cautious with what they say.

Midfielder Jack Wilshere recently tweeted about the 'inconsistent refereeing' during the match between Newcastle United and Arsenal, but since deleted it.

The Football Association decided not to punish Wilshere after looking into te matter.

Former Liverpool striker Ryan Babel was fined £10,000 by the FA in January when he posted a mocked-up photo of referee Howard Webb in a Manchester United shirt, following a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.

Walcott said: "There's no point whingeing about referees after games. It's not going to change the result.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you have to be careful what you do in your personal life.

"I don't tweet myself, I really don't have a clue what it's all about. It doesn't really interest me."
