Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, who'd seemed such a fine signing at the start of the season, has somewhat disappeared off the radar recently.
The Moroccan has ten goals this season, but has not scored since November, having lost his place completely, it seems, to Robin van Persie.
The former Bordeaux man has explained that by January he was feeling the effects of a new, more competitive league without a winter break, and is happy to be rested for now.
He explained: "By the start of January, I felt that I had completely lost my edge. It was there for all to see. I am only human, so I've been given some rest and Arsenal have been able to profit from van Persie's form.
"He is walking on water right now. Everything he tries comes off.
"I am fully aware of my new status as a substitute. I hope to play again soon but it could be in March rather than February. It is a blessing in disguise, as the team is doing well and I am able to get some rest."
I'd be tempted to say none of us could have planned this better: with no van Persie or Nicklas Bendtner at the start of the season Chamakh came in, adapted quickly and did a really good job, notching up ten goals and six assists; then van Persie came back after a long spell out, so is full of energy and performing brilliantly.
One can't help but feel he'll be injured again before long, and if that does happen, Chamakh will have had a nice long rest and hopefully be ready to fill in again.
Could this new-found luck with injuries this season translate itself into trophies for Arsenal?
