After scoring for Cardiff City, Aaron Ramsey says he feels close to getting back to his best, and has support from Arsène Wenger and Cardiff manager Dave Jones.
The Welsh midfielder is on loan at his former club to regain match fitness after nearly a year out of the game due to a horrific leg-breaking tackle from Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross last season.
With Arsenal playing Stoke tonight for the first time since that fateful evening, it feels appropriate that recovering star Ramsey should be making the headlines.
On his second spell at Cardiff and his chances of making the Arsenal first team, Ramsey said: "I feel I'm getting back my best. I hope that'll continue so I can get back to where I was and better.
"I wanted to get a goal before I go back and I was glad it came at home.
"I feel I'm getting there. That is what these games are for, to get me back into the swing of things and I feel that is coming each game that I'm getting better and stronger."
Dave Jones is pleased with Ramsey's performances, and feels he is getting over his injury.
Jones said: "He is over the injury. What he needs is games and you probably saw in the last 15 minutes is he is not at that top level yet.
"For us it is good enough but for the next level he is probably just a few games still short."
Meanwhile, Gunners boss Arsène Wenger plans to use Ramsey in his team again as soon as next week, when they play Leyton Orient in an FA Cup replay.
The Frenchman said: "I intend to use him. He could be available for the second game against Leyton Orient on Wednesday."
Despite nearly ending the promising midfielder's career, Stoke City thug Ryan Shawcross says he remains guilt-free over the nature of his challenge and the way he plays his game.
In fact, he even had the audacity to criticise Wenger for having a bad word to say about him.
He said: "He has a habit of saying things like that but I'm big enough to deal with it. He has been doing it for a long time but it's not going to affect me.
"He can say what he wants, it will just make me stronger. I've said it before, he seems to have a problem with Stoke but we'll let our performances talk.
"All experiences can make you better and I'm growing up as a player every time I play."
Don't worry, everyone, little Ryan is fine, bless him. Thank goodness for that. Let's hope he stays strong and plays the way he wants and maybe we'll see another fine prospect like Jack Wilshere on a stretcher tonight.
Credit to Ramsey for his comeback. I won't forget what an excellent player he was looking like last season before this unfortunate incident. I very much look forward to seeing him return to Arsenal, and hope he has a little more luck than Eduardo in re-establishing himself in the first-team.
