Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is one who is hoping that manager Arsene Wenger does not intend to buy a new goalkeeper in the summer.
Arsenal fans have been calling on the Frenchman to strengthen the defence by signing an experienced number one, but 21-year-old Szczesny is hoping that he's done enough to convince the manager of his capabilities.
Szczesny said: "I'm doing my best. Whatever decision the manager makes at the start of next season is completely down to him, but I will do my best to cement my position in goal.
"I will always look at this as my 'breakthrough' season and I want to cement my place in the team for a long time.
"Whatever happens this year, next year will be very important for me personally and for Arsenal as well."
