Striker Robin van Persie is ruing his side's missed chances this season, especially after beating leaders Manchester United at the Emirates 1-0.
Arsenal are now six points behind United, but would really have been coasting to the finishing line if they had done better in the run-in, with the destination of the Premiership trophy in their hands at one stage of the season.
And the Dutch international admits that it's down to him and his team to step up and make sure results like the one on Sunday count by taking their chances against the smaller teams as well.
van Persie said: "That's what makes you very frustrated. If you look back at a couple of games this year, like Sunday or against Chelsea, we didn't let these big games count because we dropped points against other teams. It makes it very frustrating.
"It is time to make that final step. We came so close a couple of times and achieved a Final this year but we need to play at least two or three Finals and be involved in those circumstances.
"If you look at Manchester United, we can be better than them but they are [most likely] in the Final of the Champions League, have a big chance of winning the Premier League and were in the Semi-Final of the FA Cup.
"We want to be in those positions and it's up to us to do that."
