The Arsenal-Mania Player of the Month: November

November has been another great month of the Arsenal. We seemed to have continued the great form shown last month in both the Champions League and the league. We qualified for the round of 16 in the CL with 2 matches to spare and in the premiership we are up to 3rd on the table. During the month another one of the lads joined our long term injury list after returning from yet another international match with a broken foot. Gaël Clichy, who was filling in Ashley Cole at left back will be out of action for over 3 months leaving us without a recognised replacement until Cole returns in January.

Our first match of the month was against Sparta Prague at home. Thierry Henry broke the all time goal scoring record against Sparta last month with two goals and further added to his tally with another back home. Robin van Persie came was substituted on late in the second half and got 2 goals to secure the points and our qualification.

We were back in the league days later playing host to newly promoted Sunderland. Robin van Persie continued his terrific form with the opening goal against the struggling side, Thierry Henry doubled the score line before Sunderland grabbed one back from, and yes you guessed it, a corner. We however were able to restore our lead through Thierry Henry who slotted home for his 8th of the season.

We returned to action after yet another internationals break, which saw us, lose another left back to injury. Pascal Cygan slotted into the team in place of Clichy despite that not being his natural position. We face Wigan for the first time at the JJB Stadium and what a game that was. The usual suspects, Robin van Persie and Thierry Henry, got on the scoresheet to beat a spirited and determined Wigan side 3-2.

Arsenal travelled to Switzerland to face FC Thun in the Champions League days later, Wenger rang in the changes due to the fact that we had already qualified and only needed a point to top the group. It looked as if we would get the point we yearn until Robin van Persie was awarded a penalty late on, Robért Píres put aside the penalty saga from last month and converted to hand us our 5th victory out of 5 matches.

Blackburn made their last visit to Highbury on the last Saturday of the month, but despite a committed performance they were unable to knock us down thanks to three fabulous goals from Cesc Fabregas, Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie.

Our final match of the month was against Reading at Highbury in the Carling Cup. Arsčne rang in the changes for the cup match however some of the youngsters that had broken through into the first team made appearances. Despite the altered line up we were victorious 3-0 thanks to a goal each from José Reyes, Robin van Persie and Arturo Lupoli.

And that is the way the month ended, 6 victories from 6 matches. November has been a very good by the look of that statistic and finally we are where we should be on the league table. Next month we can look forward to our final Group B game, a London Derby against Chelsea and the Christmas fixtures.

After thinking and discussing about all that has happened during the month the Arsenal-Mania forum users have decided that the Arsenal-Mania Player of the Month for November is Robin van Persie.

Ice berg legend I have got to give it to RvP, it did not matter if he was on the pitch for 9 or 90 minutes he certainly left his mark each time.

Mark Without a doubt, Robin is the man of the moment. He has had a brilliant month, long may it continue.
