Despite the poor recent form, Lauren has come out in positive mood insisting Thierry Henry will still be an Arsenal player next season and that the current Gunners side can overcome Real Madrid in the Champions League.
With the recent run of defeats, things are looking rather grim at Highbury with all-time leading goalscorer Henry being linked with a move to Barcelona next summer, but Lauren firmly believes the Arsenal captain will resist the lure of a move to the Spanish giants.
"It's difficult for any player in the world (to turn down Barcelona), because they are now playing fantastic football and are one of the top teams in Europe," he told Revista de la Liga.
"It looks as if Thierry will have that choice, but we believe in the dressing room and within Arsenal that he is going to stay."
Lauren is also in confident mood ahead of Arsenal's second round tie with Real Madrid, insisting 'los Galacticos' are not so consistent themselves.
"Playing against a big team like Real Madrid is always difficult because they've got a great team and a lot of experience and they always seem to get to the final, but I believe at this particular moment they are not at their best, so we will approach the game with a lot of confidence," he said.
"If you look at the other draws like Chelsea-Barcelona and AC Milan and Juventus, I think that even though Real Madrid is one of the greatest teams in Europe - particularly in this competition - it's not a bad draw because I believe they are not in the best form, which is the feeling we all have in the dressing room."
The full-back believes that Arsenal's form in the competition so far will help them ahead of this big game.
"I don't think we are going to change our style of play because we have always played with the same style. Even if we are playing Real Madrid or anyone else, we will always play the same way.
"It's just that maybe in this competition we are more confident because we have done very well so far. We hope we can keep that going and we do approach this game with confidence."
