Reports have surfaced that Besiktas rejected a bid of €7m from Arsneal for captain Oguzhan Ozyakup.

The Turkey international is rumoured to be lined up as a replacement for Jack Wilshere, who is still yet to sign a new deal.

The Englishman has just four months until his current contract expires and there are concerns he may leave in the summer.

Now according to Turkish outlet Aksam (via Sports Witness), Arsenal are favourites to sign Ozyakup in the summer because it’s believed his head has been turned by the Premier League side.

Like Wilshere Ozyakup is reaching the end of his current deal. The two played alongside each other as part of Arsenal’s youth set up from 2008-2012. Ozyakup helped Arsenal lift the Youth Premier League title and the FA Youth Cup.

But after failing to make his mark in the first-team, the 26 year-old was sold to Besiktas for just £500,000 in 2012.
