Basel vs Arsenal player ratings

Lucas Perez took the headlines as Arsenal thrashed Basel 4-1 in Switzerland to take top spot in Group A.

Perez scored two quick fire first half goals before adding his third just after the break. Alex Iwobi then made it four upon his recall to the first team.

Arsene Wenger’s side were gifted first place after Paris Saint-Germain were held 2-2 at home to Bulgarian side Ludogorets.

The French champions twice had to fight back from a goal down but couldn’t find a winner.

Arsenal can now look forward to drawing a second place team in the next round thanks to their summer signing.

It’s the first time the club have topped the group since 2011/12, but Arsenal fans should be aware that they could still draw Bayern Munich and either Borussia Dortmund or Real Madrid.

The Gunners have lost just once in their previous 21 games as they prepare to host Stoke on Saturday.
