German giants Borussia Dortmund are in talks with Arsenal over a deal for youngster Gedion Zelalem, according to reports from The Guardian.

The former Glasgow Rangers loanee, who has progressed through the ranks in north London, has failed to live up to the promise which manager Arsene Wenger saw in him as a young teenager.

The 19-year-old has made just three appearances for the first team since he made his debut two years ago, and needs regular playing time to progress his career.

The Bundesliga side are confident they can help the youngster, who declared his international allegiance for the United States recently, where he moved from Germany at the age of nine.

The creative midfielder has two-and-a-half years left on his deal with the Gunners, meaning that there is no pressure for Dortmund to get a deal over the line in the January window.

An offer from the Westfalenstadion could tempt the Arsenal man, considering the chance to play alongside fellow American international Christian Pulisic, who has excelled for Der BVB in recent months.

Despite the American’s form, Dortmund are languishing in sixth place in the Bundesliga table and would be an outside choice to use a bonus on. You can click here for more info on Matchbook’s bonus code.
