Arsenal’s stuttering form has been a disappointment to most of us gooners if we’re honest, and the boss has revealed that he expected more from his squad.

He told the official website that he was targeting at least three or four more points at this point of the season, and that he felt Arsenal could come back and recover from an indifferent start.

“That [20 points from 11 games] would be a fraction short [of my target],” he said. “Three or four points short.”

“But we know we had a difficult start with the Champions League qualifier. We are now on a good run and let’s continue. If you can maintain the run, you will come back.”

The latter part of his statement is what resonates with me. It is most important to respond and recover and improve going forward. Like I always say, football waits for no man. We cannot dwell on our less than stellar start and should much more invested in how to fix the problem going forward.

Those above us are dropping points so consistency on our part is key. I said before that I am not worried, and I stand by it. The season is young, a lot can and will happen.
