With Chelsea, Manchester City, Southampton, and Tottenham being defeated in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, Arsenal will have to battle with Manchester United and Liverpool in order to claim their 12th FA Cup in club history. Arsene Wenger’s season-long goals from here on out – qualify for Champions League and capture the FA Cup Double by winning the trophy in successive seasons.

The top three clubs at the moment in England have been eliminated from the FA Cup, all by lower tier teams in dramatic fashion. Chelsea let a 2-0 lead slide into a 4-2 loss to Bradford City whilst Southampton were defeated 3-2 by Yaya Sanogo and Crystal Palace. Manchester City has failed to regain form after the beating Arsenal laid on them at the Etihad as the Citizens fell 2-0 to Middlesbrough, Arsenal’s next opponent in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.

Manchester United are set to replay Cambridge United on the 3rd of February while Liverpool replay with Bolton on the 4th. If both Premier League sides fail to come out victorious, Arsenal will be looking at a easy stroll to Wembley for a second straight year.

Arsenal’s squad this year is stronger and deeper than the last campaign, and the Gunners should be confident in their ability to win the Double. The Gunners ability to go forward with pace is unmatched in England, leaving the opposing backlines of England to get on their bikes a little early. With Walcott and Ozil shedding off the rust with a goal each against Brighton in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, Arsene Wenger looks to finally link them up with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla. The amount of attacking talent Arsenal has is scary, too much talent with not enough spots in the starting XI to keep everyone happy.

That’s not a double, by any stretch of the imagination…

I don’t think they will do either. Great going forward but defensively they are a shambles. I can’t see them beating Boro tbh
