Arsenal’s signing of Petr Cech from Chelsea is now imminent, as the goalkeeper is due to appear at London Colney for a medical according to reports. It was initially thought that the player would undergo his medical next week, but reports this morning say Arsenal has moved the procedure to today in the hopes of finalizing the deal by the weekend.

The deal is now expected to be announced anytime in the next coming days with Sky Sports confirming the player has already agree personal terms with Arsenal. Cech is expected to put pen to paper on a three year deal worth £100,000 a week after the clubs agreed a fee of £10.9 million.

We gooners cannot express enough how much of a massive deal this is for the club. We will be chomping at the bit until the day the deal is done and dusted and officially confirmed.

It is reported that Cech had a face to face meeting with Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovic urging them to break policy and allow him to join Arsenal. Normally, selling to a top four rival is out of the question, but Cech’s 11 year relationship with the club is believed to have been an important factor.

The player and his wife are settled in London, and was granted his wish to continue living there. This all spells good news for Arsenal and hopefully Cech is the catalyst for a title challenge this term.
