Shock reports claim Arsenal have agreed a deal to take Arturo Vidal to the Emirates. By now we gooners wouldn’t be silly enough take these reports and run with them, but any speculation linking the club with a top player will always be welcome.

The relationship between Vidal and Juventus has begun to to deteriorate a bit and reports of the player’s availability have started to surface. The club is much more willing to release Vidal than Pogba and are allegedly open to offers. Vidal is of course a Chilean international, and reports of the player being influenced by compatriot Alexis Sanchez have undoubtedly begun making their rounds as well.

If that weren’t enough, the two also share an agent which tip things even further in Arsenal’s favour after reports of interest from Liverpool as well. Nothing has been confirmed so we will not too carried away, but could Vidal be the man to take Arsenal to the next level?

He could fill the role next to Coquelin (although he is not the traditional tall and strong holding midfielder Wenger has craved) as well as anywhere in the centre of the park. He is world class without a doubt and would offer something different to what Arsenal already have.

Vidal is an excellent footballer. He has exquisite technical ability and impressive shooting ability and passing range. He could be a real star in our side, and a midfield trio of him, Ozil, and Sanchez is comparable to any engine room in world football.

His inclusion would most likely push Cazorla out wide meaning Ramsey would drop out of the side however. I am not too sure Wenger wants to do that, so we will have to wait and see if these reports hold true.

Wenger was coy as usual regarding transfer dealings in his press conference today, which will do nothing to cool this speculation. Again, the time to rejoice has not yet come, but this is an interesting development nonetheless. What do you think gooners? Is Vidal the man to take Arsenal to the next level?
