Some have questioned Arsenal’s form this season, and whether they can win a trophy. Their defensive frailties have led to them being culpable in games, but the saving grace has been Alexis Sanchez’s impact on the team, with his quality I think this club has a good chance of winning something.

I think that Arsenal do not have much of a chance in winning the Premier League, the club is already 13 points off the top, and leaders Chelsea. Although, the Gunners have a strong record at home, away games is where they can fall short – our away record would have to dramatically improve for them to have a chance of the title, and also they would have to beat most of the teams in the ‘top four.’ Arsenal do not have the best consistency, so the league is probably the least likely trophy option.

The ‘easiest’ option would be the FA Cup, with many of the top sides going out in the last round, Arsenal are now the highest ranked club definitely left in the competition. In the next round the club faces Championship side Middlesbrough at the Emirates. With them being the holders of the cup, there is an expectation and with the top sides going out they are one of the favourites.

The other competition Arsenal are still in, is the Champions League. This year they have, on the face of it, a kinder draw, in comparison to recent seasons. Their next opponents Monaco have not been part of the Champions League for a few years, but due to the large investment in the club recently, they have become powerful. However, last summer they lost a few important players including James Rodriguez. Arsenal should be able to beat this team, as long as they perform well, and don’t underestimate them.

What, if, any trophy could Arsenal win? The FA Cup is the competition they have the best record in. They have the joint best record of winning it (11 times). Would this trophy be acceptable for the fans? The other possibility would be the Champions League which has so far eluded the club. The fans are desperate for the club to win this, they came closest in 2006 where they reached the final. In recent seasons they have struggled to get past the last 16. Could it be their year?
