Arsenal’s Gedion Zelalem looks set to extend his loan deal with Rangers until the end of the season, with the boss of the Scottish side confirming his intentions.

Zelalem has excelled north of the border this season but his current loan deal expires in January. Due to his performances, Rangers boss Mark Warburton is keen to see the youngster remain at the club until the summer.

Quoted by The MetroWarburton has held talks with Gunners representatives Liam Brady and is confident of a deal being reached.

‘So far, we are in good shape. The feedback from Arsenal has been very positive. He is speaking to his family and, hopefully, we are closing to securing him. The current deal is until January, but, as long as everyone is happy, we will extend that.’

‘I have been delighted with his contribution and the last game he played for Rangers was his best so far. We have a great relationship with Arsenal and our job is to make sure they know their asset is being developed properly.’

Zelalem is rated very highly by Arsenal and is tipped to have a successful future ahead of him. His experiences on-loan with Rangers will be vital to his development.
