Arsenal have swiftly completed another piece of Deadline Day business following Mathieu Debuchy’s loan to Bordeaux, with Charlton Athletic confirming the capture of Yaya Sanogo on-loan.

Sanogo spent the first-half of the season with Ajax, in a spell that was largely unsuccessful, and Arsenal recalled him from his time in Holland in order for the young French forward to move to the Championship outfit.

He’ll join a number of his fellow Gunners on-loan in the second-tier, including Chuba Akpom who’s flying with Hull City, and Serge Gnabry is also set to seal a loan move imminently but that’s unlikely to be before this evening’s 11pm deadline.

Sanogo won the 2014 FA Cup with Arsenal, appearing as a substitute, and his only goal for the first-team so far was in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund- but he did net four in the Emirates Cup against Benfica in 2014.

The 23-year-old will continue his development at Charlton before returning to Arsenal at the end of the season.
