Arsenal have completed a late piece of Deadline Day business, with the club confirming that Mathieu Debuchy has joined Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux on-loan until the end of the summer.

The French international has found first-team opportunities difficult to come by this season due to the spectacular form of Hector Bellerin, who rose into the frame last season during Debuchy’s loan injury absence.

Injury issues for Debuchy since his 2014 arrival from fellow Premier League outfit Newcastle United have limited his experiences with the Gunners to just 22 appearances, of which seven have come this season.

With Debuchy looking to assure himself of a spot in France’s squad for the European Championships this summer, the 30-year-old full-back was keen to seal a temporary exit from North London.

Arsenal could see further moves completed today, with Yaya Sanogo being recalled from a spell with Ajax and looking set to join Charlton Athletic. Serge Gnabry is also set to join a Championship club on-loan, though it’s unlikely to be finalised today.
