Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman has responded to press speculation that Arsenal was looking to sign Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham in the summer.

Edelman advised the fans to “wait and see” and said that any summer transfer activity is still too far away.

Edelman said: “I think I always say let’s wait and see.

“Arsène [Wenger] answers a question by a journalist and it gets exaggerated a little bit as you go along.

“I think [Emirates Stadium] is a stadium any great player would like to play at. It’s a magnificent stadium in the heart of London and anyone would like to play on a pitch here which will be as good as Highbury’s.

“We hope to see Champions League football every year and the win against Real Madrid was very exciting. The win against Liverpool was also good so I’m hopeful we will see Champions League football next season.”
