Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez was at the Allianz Arena last night to run the rule over Arsenal full back Hector Bellerin, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish newspaper say that Barca have made Bellerin their “priority target” after their struggles to find a first choice right back since the departure of Dani Alves to Juventus last summer.

Fernandez has been tasked with finding a high quality defender, and although they also have an interest in Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich, they believe that a move for the German in the summer is out of the question while an offer for Bellerin is more realistic.

Despite the fact that the 21 year old only signed a new six¬†year deal to stay at the Emirates back in November, Barca’s determination to land a signing in what has become a problem position, may lead to Gunners having to prepare themselves for summer bid from the Catalan club.
