In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Arsenal got their pre-season preparations under way last night with a 1-1 draw against RC Lens in Northern France.

Played at Stade Bollaert-Delelis where England defeated Wales 2-1 during Euro 2016, the game was a typical first game back after the summer – scrappy for the most part with flashes of quality here and there.

While fitness is the name of the game for the here and now, there will be more onus on the Gunners to step up their game as they head to the United States to take on the MLS All-Stars in San Jose next week.

However, with many first team players receiving a run out from Arsene Wenger last night, it’s fantastic to see the boys back in action with football having never been away this summer with Euro 2016 entertaining us all in between.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at FIVE things we learned from Arsenal’s opening draw with Ligue 2 outfir RC Lens yesterday evening.
