Former Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin has revealed he is considering retirement, after being made a free agent this week.

The Gunners man has spent his days in Russia since leaving Arsenal, joining Zenit St Petersburg initially on a loan deal in 2012, but has struggled to find form and saw his contract with Kuban Krasnodar terminated by mutual consent six months early.

Now 34, and without a club, Arshavin told R-Agency that he may hang up his boost imminently.

“I will remain in Krasnodar until all the technical issues with the club are solved. If there is an offer to continue playing, I will definitely take a look at it. If not, I will end my career.”

Arshavin spent three years with Arsenal after arriving in 2009, for what was a club record fee at the time, and featured in 105 Premier League matches; scoring 23 goals and grabbing 27 assists.

His most memorable moment for Arsenal was scoring all four goals at Anfield in a 4-4 draw against Liverpool, whilst he also scored a late winner in an historic 2-1 victory over Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium.
