Eddie coming on with 15 minutes left today. Bamford played really well.

Oh sh*t they just scored! Eddie helped in the build up a bit.

Eddie came on and looked very rusty. Played a smart pass in the build up for a goal up as soon as he came on but that was it.

Gave away a cheap foul on a CB and messed up a couple of simple passes. Huddersfield put the pressure on towards the end so he didn’t get on the ball much.

Should never have been sent to Leeds in the first place. Why give succor to the enemy?

Dreadful loan, he’s not getting a look in now that Bamford has found form.

Bristol City are crying out for a striker, got to get him over there. I could get tickets to see them play pretty easily.

That's fine.

Just think that this is like an overprotective parent trying to fix everything for the child. They soon get used to the mollycoddling

This is a good point actually. While early on in a youngster's career, game time is probably the most important but it doesn't hurt they also develop a mentality of that they will have to fight for everything. Nothing will be given to them unless they have earned it.

I think Eddie already knows that - otherwise he'd have chosen Bristol City IMO. That said, we do still have to decide what's better for his career with us in the long term - staying at Leeds and fighting for scraps, or going to Bristol City and getting far more in-game experience than he's currently getting. It's the same league, just more game time - which ultimately is the main thing he lacks, not ability.

He does need the game time. Which at the moment is unacceptably low at Leeds. If Bristol still are interested we should send him there.

What I don't get is why Leeds tried so hard to sign him yet are so reluctant to play him. Not even as a regular starter but maybe start him in every 3 or 4 games, that would still have been a sizeable chunk of games for him. All he gets now is 10 odd minutes here and there.

Why did we even send him there in the first place? Playing time is the most essential variable to look at in a loan, we just seem to want to send a player to a club that makes him happy.

Waste of time.

iirc he had two offers from the Championship, and he chose Leeds himself.

Gonna be one of those players that gets sold to some lower mid table club for 10-15 million

I think Leeds and Bristol Rovers were the options and Eddie chose Leeds. The club should have sent him to Rovers.
