As the season draws to a close and transfer muppetry begins, I wanted to look back to the recent past at players we were heavily linked to, who came close to joining or you wanted, but with hindsight are glad we didn’t sign.

Exhibit A: Yann M’vila

I was sure Yann M’vila was tailor made for our midfield but having seen him at Sunderland during their disaster season and thereafter, I lit definitely feels like we dodged a bullet.

I remember his medical being announced by ITKs for a solid 2 months.

For me hard to beat Christopher Samba. I was well on his hype train as well

In terms of recent seasons we’ve dodged some bullets, few land mines.

-Romelu Lukaku
-Aleskandr Kokorin
-Jean Michael Seri

Could potentially slip Thomas Lemar in there.. he’s had an awful season. But I do have sympathy for attacking players in a Simeone team. Still reckon Lemar could do a madness here- but his own performances have been well below bar at a higher level.

Arsenal Quotes

When we won the title on May 3-rd by beating Everton 4-0 as Tony Adams scored that iconic goal, we showed everyone and especially Manchester United that we could beat them. Thirteen days later, when we beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup final in the legendary Wembley Stadium, it was wonderful... I felt immensely proud for the team, for the club: this was the fantastic response I was able to give to those who had put their confidence in me, as well as those who had put me through all those difficult weeks when I first arrived.
