The thing about high traffic is a good idea, to keep numbers to a certain level, but i dont see why it lets people in, then stops them. i write out a post then click submit and it comes up 'high traffic' and my post doesnt come up. It'd make sense to let people in and keep them in, and stop other people getting in untill others leave.
But anyway to make the forum better is fine by me

I agree with you, is quite annoying though I can understand with baptista and gallas signing we have high traffic levels. It will be back to normal in no time! Ash is ace

I've posted an update and explanation in the other thread.

The reason why I can't keep certain people in, is because it would have taken too long to write that module anyway.

I had to take quick action yesterday and blocking out any user when the server is under strain was the best option at the time.

Keep up the good work! I guess we won't see traffic like this anymore, exceptional times and we came up on top! I tell ypou, going to bed early was hard last night, waking up and checking to see if evereything was set at 6 o' clock and it wasn't was hard, the stress was relieveb by the duties of a daycare center, impossible to worry about things like transfers when you have to put a little boy in the shower becasue he literarly have sh*t all over himself. I guesss I would have to get get some atm non-existant girlfriend pregnant so the stress of this seasons last games won't get to me.

Arsenal Mania often has well cpnstucted, thoughtful articles.
This forum looks good. I checked out a couple of others before I settled here and i think this is the best one going.

What I like best about the way this site is run is that it insists people use proper language. I have always been a pedantic bastard about text talk and I'm glad others are too! A bane on modern society it is! Also, it's helpful for non-English speakers. Keep up the good work.

Don't think I've seen this thread before, so I'll just add my appreciation of one of my favourite sites on the net.
Been here for almost a week short of 3 years since I was introduced to the site by a good mate who used to be a mod/admin (some of you mods may remember G-F). Great forum, the best Arsenal one there is. Haven't been posting a lot recently myself as I've been getting busy at uni with mountains of assignments and then exams coming up in a couple of weeks, but usually try to check in every day to at least read the latest if not post.

Hope to stick around for a long time to come.

I've been to a lot of Arsenal forums in my web days, and somehow I always seem to end up back here. Other forums just don't seem complete compared to this one. I haven't been here long, but long enough for me to start loving this place. Arsenal-Mania has become the ultimate forum for me, and the only one that I'm visiting now.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is.... Good work all of you who run this place. And thank you. :D

Heh - thanks for the kind words everyone.

I'm still tied up with work, so haven't been able to spend time working on some of the new features we're talking about.

However bear with me and hopefully it'll all be finished soon.

How come I can no more write a message on football talk or arsenal while I have been here for years without ever breaking the smallest rule or even having the slicest problem with anybody??? If anything I only have put good contributions. For about five months I had been really busy not being able to check the forum that much or even write in it for that matter.

Go to the noticeboard threads and read...........then go to the lobby and write.

Wow new changes shocked. Anyway I hope I can be a forum member as soon as possible, I don't exactly visit the forum much due to uni commitments, so I just want to ask if you can upgrade my user status. I must admit in the past I have not really contributed to long discussions about different topics. I usually state my opinion, and say what I feel. So whenever your ready....

thanks :)

Don't think I ever saw this thread, but now that I have, I want to chip in my little bit.
I think this is about the best forum I 've been on. I used to contribute to a local football forum in my country Nigeria, but it's a general football forum, and I've been an Arsenal supporter since 1995, so you can imagine my delight when I discovered this forum. I really want to thank the Admin/Mods for their good work here and hope that your servers remain on the up and up. Vive l'Arsenal.

The only problem I have with this forum is that it is broken up into far too many sub forums. Is there some sort of technical reason this is going on?

jonathanchong (Administrator) on November 20th, 2006, 7:25 am

Technical reason? Nope.

It's just so that content and discussions are better organised.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I wanted to point my feelings out.

I agree with many of the statements in this thread.

This is indeed my favourite Arsenal forum, there's nothing wrong about it at all. I love the comradery of the members of this forum. I may be a new poster, but I hope to some day join the ranks of the good members of this forum.

I also love how everyone here understands the never-die Gooner pride many people here feel.

A-M is certainly the great forum for Arsenal fans.

But what happened a while ago? Around 12:00-2:00pm (GMT+8 )? There's a "technical database error" when I go here.

Just noticed the new banner now.

It's great! The forum skin is really great, and the banner seems to blend in with the background pretty well.

Cheers! ;)
