Hmm Cesc has a broken nose, I wonder if he'll be donning a mask when/if he plays.

With Djourou out maybe Eboue at RB with RvP at RW or ...

Eboue will play right back. We only have 2 fit CBs! Nasri, Denilson, SOng, Cesc, RVP and Ade.

Unless Song plays at the back...
Oh well, I hope Patrick's right - it certainly seems to be the better solution to me, anyway.

Hmmm, forgot about Song. Kolo - Silvestre - Song - Clichy it is then ... Anyone know if Vela is available or is he too 'jet-lagged' again?

Kolo - Silvestre - Song - Clichy
That would be the worst back 4 since the Luzhny - Stepanovs partnership.
Silvestre isn't fit, is he?

Situations like this are fun on Football Manager, it gives me the chance to play players I wouldn't normally play, or play them out of position and it's nice. I like it.
But in real world football, with a squad this size, it gets on my tits.

lol At this stage stick 'em all in a hat and see what comes out.
EDIT: @Asa, match fit? Probably not, but he'll play won't he?

Eboue didn´t play as a right back last season when Sagna was injured, I don´t see Wenger playing him there now to be honest. But I wouldn´t mind it, he could have a good game and then Wenger could finally realize Eboue is at his best when playing on the right back like it was two years ago.

I think that was more down to shortage of options on the wings. Eboue's subbed on for Sagna this season and had a good show. Still would prefer him at right-back to any centreback. With Silvestre, Song or Djourou partnering Kolo, we should be better aerially (not sure about Djourou). Plus, maybe Eboue could whip in some great crosses, he definitely has the ability, just hope he doesn't overdo it.

Didnt think about Song either. We all know he's a pretty decent CB so i have no issues with that. Would like to see Eboue back at RB though for the reasons stated by TomasCR. The Eboue in midfield experiment needs to end.

Agree with dutchMasta there.
Eboue may not have played there for a while, but none of the CBs we have have exactly acquitted themselves with any credit whenever they've been asked to play there in recent seasons.
Toure was awful there last year, absolutely terrible, and I vaguely remember Djourou having a few poor games there as well. Silvestre? Well, he's just a ****.

The problem with Song is that he STILL switches off from time to time - he's had some very good games as a CB (like Newcastle), and some very poor ones as well (like Derby), and really needs a solid partner next to him. If Djourou plays well, it could work, but Silvestre definitely is NOT that man.

Absolutely Asa, Kolo made a pig's ear out of that experiment (I don't blame him mind). If it's not Eboue at RB then really what's the point of him? This is EXACTLY what he should be in the squad for - to cover RB and from the bench offer the options primarily of RB/RM.

One thing that arises from this re-shuffle is that 3 points in this game, against what is a decent side with very good individual players, is far from guranteed. This game is another real test for squad and i'll be impressed/re-assured if we win.

It would be nice, wouldn´t it? Eboue would finally find his role in the team and everyone of us (and those who sing the "we have just come to see Eboue" song on the stands) will be satisfied and love him again. But you just know Wenger, you all know he is not going to use him tomorow.

Yeah, other than Flamini and Diarra, I don't remember a single good performance from a non-right-back who played there. Actually, it seems any of our defenders who go out of their original positions usually have horror shows, Hoyte at CB, Toure at CM/FB, ...ah, maybe not. It's just too easy to remember bad things about them.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 25,00.html So it seems Djourou and Walcott won't play. We got other ok options, so I'm not too bothered. Hope Vela gets the go ahead, but if he's unfit, f*** it, play Wilshere. Realistically, Diaby would probably play ahead of both of them.
So Wenger calls this a fresh start huh...only a disappointing start would get people saying that. Anyway, whatever, lets get the 3 points and get some consistensy. This international break has taken WAY too long.

if song keeps his game up, that's not a bad midfield. my only concern is there're no defenders bar gibbs on the bench with this lineup. which could mean denilson is in midfield, which should put him on the right instead of wilshere, song staying on the bench and either diaby or ramsey in the middle with cesc:
almunia
eboue toure silvestre clichy
denilson fabregas ramsey/diaby nasri
adebayor van persie
bench: fabianski vela song randall gibbs wilshere diaby/ramsey

Get Silvestre out and Song in.
Even in his prime, Silvestre was an awful CB. Decent LB cover, but should be nowhere near the middle of the defence, the guy's a clown. Make no secret of the fact that I don't like him - I'm in the 2nd row tomorrow, if that guy comes anywhere near the pitch, he's getting a ******* earful.

How is Cesc going to play with a broken nose? I remember we had a player at Feyenoord who wear a mask.

international weeks are sooooo boring its bloody unreal! and then half our players come back injured! great! not too confident about tomorrow..players dont seem to give a **** about league champions league is all they are interested in! im still pissed about sunderland..- who are a dreadful team by the way..
but remember... adebayor....... give him the ball and he willl score... as long as we have him in the side thats all that matters

We should play our Carling Cup side, all of our senior members are injury'd or have a injury ...
there is only one player we have to fear...only one. when the ball goes out off the body of our player behind our goal, and the evertonian whoever he may be set up the cross from the corner, we better PRAY that Tim Cahill is NOWHERE near the 6 yard box.

just the yak and arteta to worry about, they've also got that lanky midfielder who looks useful on corners
