first loan spell - RB
Second loan spell - CB

Those types of players are valuable to a club. United seem to be doing well with the likes of Oshea and Brown in their squad.

with the exception of luke freeman, our reserve team is pretty tall and strong. unlike the midgets we've stacked our first team with.

Vela (Forum Member) on April 15th, 2011, 9:54 pm

Good point yeah I agree, I think it the reserve game against Chelsea where Freeman scored and it finished 2-2. The commentator for ChelseaTV kept saying this Arsenal reserve side are big and powerful but not that good technically. Which I disagree with because during the match Freeman scored a great goal from an impossible angle. All ChelseaTV were doing was saying how good Josh Mceachran was and he did not play that well IMO. Chuks Aneke tackle him for Arsenal first goal and set up Rhys Murphy who scored it. They are a tall and strong side but still very good technically as well.

Found this on the internet it was En Route: Preview of Dallas Cup XXXII Super Group’s stars of tomorrow. I just copy and pasted the Arsenal part though.

Arsenal – The Gunners brought a squad full of players who are on Arsène Wenger’s radar for the coming years, as quite a few have seen time with the reserve team in recent weeks. The experience against high-level competition will come in handy for the team that enters the tournament as the favorites. Before its dream showdown with Barcelona in the final, Arsenal will have to knock off difficult opposition in Group A play, as the Gunners clash against Dallas Texans, Chorrillo FC, and Club Bolivar.

#20 Emmanuel Frimpong – After sitting out for eight months rehabbing a torn ACL, Frimpong made his return last week in a reserve game against Sunderland. Now, he will be itching to pick up some minutes in Dallas as he continues to regain fitness. The 19-year-old spent the pre-season with the first team and showed well enough there for the coaches to keep him with Gunners despite loan offers. The injury may have delayed those first team plans, but he is still a real talent who has both Ghana and England waiting on his international future.

#4 Conor Henderson – The Irish midfielder made his debut with the Arsène Wenger’s team just over a month ago in the F.A. Cup fixture against Leyton Orient. Arsenal U-18 head coach Steve Bould will be looking to Henderson for leadership on the field, as the 19-year-old is the oldest player on the Arsenal roster at the event. The crafty two-way player has been a steady member of reserve games recently and is definitely one to keep an eye on.

#8 Oguzhan Özyakup – The 18-year-old Dutch star is known for his ability to influence the game from the midfield. His vision and pinpoint accuracy over range has seen him quickly rise up the Arsenal ranks. The midfielder has also enjoyed success on the international stage as a regular starter with the Netherlands U-19 side.

@OptaJoe: 62 - Carlos Vela has the best minutes per goal rate of any player this season who has scored more than once. Wave.

Real shame that Aneke, Bunjaku, Miquel etc all missed out. Would've been a lot of fun and a big opportunity too.

Vela (Forum Member) on April 16th, 2011, 2:08 pm

Still think they will do well. Dont think Bunjaku was going to start anyway, he would of featured at some point though. Aneke you could say the biggest lost. Nico Yennaris, Jernade Meade, Philip Roberts, Nigel Neita, Ben Glasgow and James Campbell are all injured as well. I like the look of Nico Yennaris, he was on the bench for one of the Emirates Cup this season.

Hope Hodgson surprises us and starts Vela. Would be interesting to see him vs Chelseas defenders.
