With palermo going out the other day of the europa, us beating udinese and french teams doing well...its just matter of time before French league get ahead of the Italian league just like the Germans did. Udinese has no experience whatsoever in this level and they sold their 3 best players

When was the last time we started a PL campaign with three losses in a row?

The season we won at San Siro 5-1 against Inter, your point?

I have no doubt we'll win but you gotta admit the fixtures on our side make it hard for us.

They would have maybe knocked us out if they still had Inler, Zapata and Sanchez but will be too weak now.

You are underestimating them,
Udinese have always been a selling club and yet they remain on the top half of Italian league even without their top players.
losing out another 2-3 players means nothing, 2010 season they sold their key players also Gaetano D'Agostino, Simone Pepe and several others. the result? 4th place.

This is NOT gonna be a walk in the park, not with the state of our current club is in.

PS. Di Natale is still around

should we fail to overcome udinese which is a possible i beleieve will we go into the europa league?? atleast thats a trophy we could possibly win.

DutchWizard (Lobby Member) on August 6th, 2011, 9:49 am

Handanovic

Benatia Danilo Coda Domizzi

Isla Abdi Asamoah Armero

Pinzi

Di Natale

They will probably play in this way.Benatia and Domizzi are better as CBs rather than as full backs.Walcott and Gervinho should take advantage of this.

i doubt it, the europa league will probably be tougher for us to win actually because the teams who play there are often more physical in their approach and often loads of teams there play defensive football.

to be honest, at this point of time, i don't think anyone expects us to win or draw against the mancs away, pretty much can give yanited 3 pts there, the really tricky one is pool at home, i can see plenty of the fans turning on wengs and the squad if we go behind against pool at home and start panicking and ****...realistically, if we don't win udinese at home in the first league, we could be in for some really bad wake up calls come the next few games after that one.

The key against an inexperienced side like Udinese is always the same:score first, then i'm sure they would collapse.

we need to rtate, we can't play our first 11 in all 4 games, and this is why we need to add to our squad and keep the likes of cesc and nasri, imagine going into those games without nasri and cesc, it is suicidal, i can see us going with squillaci and miquel in 1 of those games if wenger does not bring in a defender

Udinese sports chief Fabrizio Larini admits drawing Arsenal for their Champions League qualifier is a big ask.

The Friulani face a huge obstacle on their way to the tournament, as they travel to the Emirates on August 16 and play at the Stadio Friuli on August 24.

“This draw gave us the worst opponent possible, so there’s no denying that,” sighed director of sport Larini.

“Arsenal truly are an extremely strong squad. What spirit will we face them with? That’s the least of our problems.

“I can assure you we’re not beaten before we even step on to the field.”

When asked if this represented a ‘mission impossible’ for Udinese, Larini kept his options open.

“You never can tell how these things go in football...”

well, that's good to hear but i'm not so sure di natale and co will be feeling all is impossible if the circumstances turn out to be **** and he turns around and sees squallici and djourou tackling each other instead of him.

Well if we avoid injuries, we won't see Djourou or Squillaci ... we'll see Vermaelen and Koscielny (if we don't sign another CB).

I am still not confident of winning the qualifier and this is coming from someone who is optimistic. No Fabregas, no Nasri and No Van persie against Udinese and this is a serious worry. Chamakh has lost all the confidence and I don't know how we will score goals when Chamakh s actually a liability right now and we don't have another Cesc Fabregas on this team. This is why I'm pulling for Ramsey and Rosicky to show their class and I'm trying to support them. We need these guys more than ever.

We have to win at home, but we'll be playing without rvp, cesc and nasri...

monkus (Forum Member) on August 6th, 2011, 1:59 pm

We'll be fine. Without Van Persie I fancy Walcott or Gervinho to score. Maybe even Vela. I'm not so confident that we'll see Vermaelen and Koscielny starting both games though - it'd be very much like Wenger to trust in at least one of Djourou/ Squillaci given the surrounding fixtures.

I dont expect it to be easy but I think we`ll be too strong at home.

Squillaci? We want to qualify, so I'd prefer it if he was nowhere near this game.

Nasri is suspended mate, and no way will Cesc be fit enough to start this, he hasn't played a game in over 3 months.

He's not playing preseason games, what makes you think he'll play in the CL qualifier? Wenger said he'll miss the start of the season, says enough, I don't think he's playing till 1st of september.

We have been handed a terrible start to the season. We could be looking at 3 games played 3 points and possibly being out of the Champions League :x

Very clever player. I'm hoping Neuton plays as well but Armero will probably get the nod.

Tempted to put a 5er on Udinese to soften the blow when they beat us.
