Arsenal players world class?

belgianfan (Forum Member) on April 11th, 2007, 6:42 pm

So wich player on our team is world class and world class doesn't mean really good it means that he's one of the best in his position(top 5 at least).

Henry stil is world class he had a bad season but still scored alot of goals. Defenders are still scared of him he just has a annoying injury(groin). He will come good again.

Gallas. The man is class his defending and positioning are unbelievable. He's up there with the best(puyol, terry, nesta)

And that's it Robin is very close I believe. And fabregas will definetly become world class but at the moment he isn't. Gerrard, pirlo, xavi, deco, fat frank?,scholes and maybe even iniesta are better I believe. If he starts scoring regular then it's between him pirlo and gerrard for the worlds best central midfielder.
Touré will be world class in a season or two I believe.

Henry, Lehman is in the top 5 goalkeepers, Rosicky and that's it

Disagree about Gallas as Cannavaro, Puyol, Lucio, Terry, Rio, to name only 5 of them are better than him.

Cesc and RVP are close.

And I think Clichy is very close too!!!

Rio isn't better than him he's overrated a pacey skillfull player would tear him apart I think. Lucio isn't the best either he sometimes is critisiced for his lack in defence(he attacks too much) and I think gallas is still better then lucio. Srry mate forgot about jens because I think he will leave( would be delighted if he stayed tho). Mad man jens forever

Canna-who. He just has a good work rate and a big heart

As for our world class players:

Henry, Toure, RVP, Rosicky, Clichy, Lehmann. I would to say Fabregas but he is getting there need to get better in front of goal.

Our World Class players our as follows

Henry - Goes without saying has been the best player in the world the past 5 seasons

Toure - He is my favourate Arsenal player, but sometimes is seen through rose-tinted goggles, needs to improve aerially, positionally and needs a add a bit more composure. But I still think he is a world class defender and person

Gallas - moody and classy, a very Gallic central defender, can also play the ball and not afraid to speak his mind. On his day there IS NO better central defender in the world

Lehmann - tempramental and arragant but thats mad jens, there's a fine line between madness and genius, but Lehmann straddles

Rosicky- Czech captain has be WC really, has played at all levels, and has shone internationally, he should be played at CM though

Hleb - Think he should be sold for many reasons, but in Spain I believe he would be majestic and unstoppable. He is undoutable one of the mos talented players in the team. How strange is it that there is major debate over whether to keep him! Seriously though he should be played centrally in Spain. Class Act.

Common cesc isn't world class. He plays a good season but the last few months he's been average. He doesn't score any goals. Stevie, lamps(i hate him but he scores alot) deco(scores and is a brilliant player), pirlo( scores is great defensively and can pass equally as good as cesc)

RVP isn't world class:eto'o,henry, drogba, zlatan, villa are all better than him.
Touré isn't there asswell I think makes stupid decisions at times.
Rosicky if played in his position is indeed one of the greats.
Clichy? You must be having a laugh right.

It does not mean he is not a good player but I do not see how you can say that Clichy is in the top 5 in Europe at his position. I would agree with Henry and Jens and I guess there is a strong case for Galls as well.

Someone with reason. It's not a shame to say a player is not world class. There aren't many of them.

Toure
Gallas
Rosicky
Fabregas
Henry
v.Persie

All world class, Walcott, Clichy, Denilson, Djourou and Diaby all have the potential to be aswell.

When did Drogba become world class. Still dont get the hype over this guy.

He kicks too much shots for throw ins for me to even consider him

belgianfan (Forum Member) on April 11th, 2007, 7:30 pm

He keeps defenders busy. Because of his presence other people get alot of space. If you don't mark him he will score. I fear the front of chelsea next year. When sheva adapts omg. His recent scoring are already indicating he is settling in and it will only get worse I feel.

The Man Who (Forum Member) on April 11th, 2007, 7:33 pm

If Cesc can add finishing to his many great attributes then he can be considered world class, cesc hasn't been awful from long range hitting the woodwork on several occasions, but inside the box he has been awful.

Henry is still world class, injuries have prevented him playing at his best recently but hopefully next season he will be back to his best.

Rosicky has the potential to be world class , the irritating thing about him is he is so injury prone.

Robin could get there in a few years aswell.

Lehmann was world class last season.

Gallas and Toure, No!!!

What if any frontline should be feared its us RVP HENRY. Would take those two ovr Drogba and Sheva any day.

Clichy is no where near world class.

Agreed Just because of Henry alone. He's in another class. But I do believe Drogba is world class now. Not in the league of henry, eto'o,dinho but he just could make it as the number 5. RVP will most definately get there but he had bad luck this season.

5 left backs: lahm, cole, zambrotta, evra and heinze are both better(clichy wil become far better then them),gallas can play there and is better, riise, maicon and abidal is probably better too. Ffs clichy world class he isn't even an international.
User avatar

dendito (Forum Member) on April 11th, 2007, 7:59 pm

I am not saying he is world class but he's in the best in his position but saying this it is hard to find a very good world class left back. I don't think Evra or Heinze are better myself. Lahm, Cole, Zambrotta, Abidal and even Gallas ok.

As much as I would love to call Toure world class, he makes too many mistakes to be called world-class at the moment. Few years later, he can be.
Gallas, for sure, is world-class. No debate here.
Henry... makes his own class with Zidane, Ronaldinho, etc.
Lehmann - yeah, he can be called world-class.
Rosicky - nah, but he is very good
Cesc - soon world-class, just too young now, so he can be inconsistent
Clichy - no final ball, he needs to improve on it...still his heart is equal to Toure's...will be world-class few years later

stuart (Trusted Member) on April 11th, 2007, 10:08 pm

Lehmann was last year
Henry was last year, he may still be, we need to see him free of injuries
Gallas is world class imo
Fabregas- very, very nearly but he isn't in the top 5 midfielders in the world

HollandGooner (Forum Member) on April 11th, 2007, 10:39 pm

We have for sure some World-Class players.

Rosicky.Henry.Gallas,Toure.

Rosicky must play central. he is world class over there.

Henry is the best in the world if he is in his form.

Toure is very good defender.

Gallas the same as Toure.

Future World Class Stars:

Fabregas
V Persie

Maby Fabregas is it already but he is also very young but we can call him a World Class.

For me also Hleb is World Class.

Endris (Forum Member) on April 11th, 2007, 10:57 pm

Henry, Lehmann, maybe Gallas but there are a lot of great defenders out there.
Cesc and van Persie will be some day, I am sure about that.

truth_hurts (Forum Member) on April 12th, 2007, 4:33 pm

World class to me means playeers that couls walk into almost any other squad:-

Henry
Gallas
Lehman
Fabregas

possibly Gilberto and Rosicky

are our world class players.

Second this. For me world-class is in the top five or maybe ten, and there are quite a few defenders I'd put before Gallas or Toure. Though I think Toure could still develop, but maybe not. Can always hope! Think Cesc needs to perform well for a few more seasons before he can be considered world-class, but I know he will be one day.

Ha, I've been cheered right up hearing all about the new "best left back IN THE WORLD" we've just bought - cause I've never heard of him...

Lehman, Gallas, Henry...that's it if I'm brutally honest.

RVP - will be our best player for sometime alongside Fabregas.

banduan (Forum Member) on April 13th, 2007, 3:28 am

World Class:

Titi, Lehmann

Close but not quite:
Gallas, RVP, Cesc

But then again, I hate the phrase anyway!
