Bert the Butcher has quit! Robin van Persie will never "get van Marwijked" again! At least, not by van Marwijk himself!

About time Bert quit. Steve Mclaren has been linked but I think thats only a good appointment if the dutch a going with a new generation of players. I think all the senior guys will be around for the next World Cup, in this situation I would go for a high profile dutchman - Van Gaal, Koemen, even De Boer.

Not a chance in this world Schteve will be appointed. Will be a Dutch manager. Van Gaal is available and would be the best choice.

Van Gaal will have learned from his mistakes. I like Rijkaard, but don't expect him to quit the Saudi job.

I would go for Rijkaard. I rate Van Gaal very highly as a manager, but I'm not sure the role of national team manager suits him. It's a whole different job.

True, I don't expect that either, although you never know unless you try. When a choice has to be made between managers that are currently available for free, Van Gaal is probably the best option.

Problem with Rijkaard is the Suadi's will want serious compensation (and rightfully so), which will put off the Dutch FA.

Is Gullit in the hunt as well? Would be an absolutely terrible appointment.

Gullit is trying to be in the hunt by saying he's capable of doing a good job. Would be very very amazed if the Dutch FA went for him.

Think it's a good choice (don't like him, but that's irrelevant). We'll play the Dutch way once more, he has no problems playing youngsters, can build a team, so I expect him to do a good job.
Not sure about Blind, he's a sneak.

Get in, exactly what the Dutch need, top appointment. I think im a Dutch National team fanboy again, but for the first time in nearly 2 decades it looks like we'll have no powerful representation in the Dutch team - I have high hopes for Kyle Embicilo in the future though.

So do I. Ebecilio is his surname.

Van Gaal has appointed Paddy K as assistant.
Van G also launched a website to which the players have to log on daily to record when they go to bed and when they get up.

Van gaal hes selected his 1st preliminary squad (32 players) for the friendly with Belgium. No major surprises. No van Bommel (stopped playing for Holland),Pieters (still recovering from injuries) and Wijnaldum. Selected for 1st time: van Rhijn (right fullback, Ajax), Clasie (DMF/DL-playmaker, Feyenoord) and Dost (VFL Wolfsburg).

van der wiel dropped? Nice if he has been dropped, think van Rhijn is a better rb than him currently.
Edit:Just checked, he has been included.

Isn't VdW first choice RB for Ajax? How can van Rhijn be better than him?

Based on last season, yes, hence the use of "currently". vdw has been horrendous/average for the last 2 season. Had a shocking euro too. Needs to play considerably better.

Seconded. VDW has been more than a waste of space for a long while. I rate both Feyenoord's right fullbacks Janmaat (23) and Leerdam (22, also plays RM) higher too.

Ajax vs PSV on today, kick off at 5pm I think(have to double check),Fischer could start and make his debut, Eriksen and vdw out of the game. Narsingh could start for PSV. Thinking of watching the game.

Prefer the Olympics. Haven't seen the odds (guess Ajax slightly fav), but my money would be on PSV, they tend to do well in Amsterdam, after Ajax moved to their new stadium.

Feyenoord - Kiev 0-1 Brown in 5th minute of injury time. Kiev only deserve to go to the next round because they scored. In 2 matches Feyenoord played much better football. Typical.
So cruel. Kiev hardly had a chance, Feyenoord had quite a few golden opportunities. Seriously lacking a striker.
Brave performance by the kids. Hope they make it to the Europa League.
Want some good Arsenal news! Get me another top player tomorrow!

Van Gaal has appointed 10 people in the mediical staff of the Dutch team.

3 doctors ( 1 of them an orthopedian), 3 physiotherapists, etc.
He also says he knows how he wants Holland to play, but he'll only do so if the players agree with him.

Can't stand that ugly mug, but he'll probably get you working again, has a strict rule wherever he goes. Van Marwijk seemed like he's completely lost control of the dressing room.

Don't like van Gaal's personality either, but do think he's a good manager and I like the football he wants to play and also like he isn't afraid to give talented youngsters a chance.
Most interesting pick in his sqaud Bruno Martins Indi (20, Feyenoord) left footed central defender. Could be a good one. Rate him.

Yes, definitely a good manager. Hope he picks Ebecilio soon, he's turned 18 this year and should be one of the senior players in the squad already.

I think it is a bit too early for him though. Even at Feyenoord he won't be a starter as CB now that Mathijsen will sign a three-year contract. Even more surprising is that Luuk the Jong is not in the squad. I would have selected him instead of Kuyt.

Van gaal said he wants in shape players. Kuyt scored twice for Fenerbahce in his last CL qualifier. Don't know about De Jong's shape.
Think Martins Indi showed v Kiev v top strikers he is in shape. Wouldn't be surprised if he makes big steps in his development in a short time. Could well be van Gaal will prefer him over Mathijsen in the not too distant future.
When it comes to Feyenoord, I would have preferred it if the Mathijsen money would have been used for a striker. That's our first problem. Martins Indi and our defence in general is doing fine.
