Lionel Messi 2010-11 - All his 53 Goals (Real HD Quality)

Well worth the 15 minutes.

Some of the assists are just... Wow, especially first one from Xavi, another at 1:15.

It might be a wrong impression, but it seemed like very little amount of Messi goals were scored in slow positional attacks. Most of his goals were scored when he and a few other Barca players were running into opposition's defence.

Maybe that's the thing we also should improve if we want to score more goals.

That is a consequence of an effective pressing strategy.

Completely agree. An effective pressing strategy and effective widemen are the two most effective ways to get "easy" goals throughout the season, and are worth a fair few points each to any team.

That's really cowardly. Imagine Bale doing that at ours.

As your vid has been taken down, thought I'd post this up.

It also has some interesting graphs at the end comparing his goal tally to other great goalscorers.

Not from a childhood gooner, bro. I'd expect it from someone like Ade though.

Yeah, remeber watching that, ******* scum. Gets away with anything Messi for being such a good footballer.

cuban (Trusted Member) on September 27th, 2011, 1:53 pm

yeah...he lost it there...not a nice thing to do...however..the best thing in that video is Pepe of all people asking Messi like :Are you messed up in the head?

He's no doubt an excellent player...but I'd much rather watch a player like Zidane. I personally believe zidane had more actual skill, whereas messi has unbelievable pace, mixed with a higher level of skill than most players, but not quite an elite level.

Really not even comparable players though.

Have to say though, regardless of how you much you may hate them, Barcelona are a fun team to watch in la liga.

Barca are a fun team to watch. Period.

I'd much rather pay to watch Ronaldinho, he's like a FIFA Street player. Far more entertaining than the one-dimensional Messi. Actually, in terms of entertainment, the Brazilian, is the best player I've ever seen.

Ronaldinho is a samba player! Give him a ball and tell him to play around with it, and most people could probably watch him for hours. I know I could.

Unfortunately having the ability to balance a ball on your neck doesn't really apply to any real match situation...but it's definitely more fun to watch!

Disagree. There posession based football actually makes the game rather boring for a neutral.

In my opinion, the best football to watch is the type that is based on speed, power and countering. The Invincibles in my opinion are the best example of this. At times they played some breathtaking football, but it was all done so efficently. They could be on the backfoot for 80minutes, then 3 touches later find themselves up 1-0.

I do like watching Barca, but there is also no doubt that early 00s Arsenal were a different kind of beautiful. Not sure which I prefer if I put my bias aside.

This is literally the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.

I simply meant he's a more well rounded player than most, if not all that have come before him. But when it comes to 1v1, him vs a quality defender, using nothing but his ball handling ability...others have been better. Not denying his overall ability.

well this is very difficult to argue and compare but in my opinion...not really...

you talk about Zidane for example...lovely technique, almost unmatched and that enabled him to pull of all those nice touches and skills but when it came to passing players Zidane's main weapon was his head and understanding of his position and position of other players eventough he had very little time and space...thats what makes him so breathtaking to watch for me personally...

Messi is different...he uses raw pace and technique, to be specific incredible close control...its not as flashy but it kills...and if you really think about speed at which he travels with the ball in tight spaces around defenders like they weren't there you really have base to say this guy has the best technique of them all...

Messi's unbelievable, people think it's boring because he's been doing it week in, week out for about 3-4 years now.

I agree with you Cudareli, to my mind the best football results from 2 teams that play at a near or equal (high) level, with the passing & speed and ability to attack each other. If Barca had an equal, then it would be great to watch but as good as they are (and they really are), its a case of whose next to get hammered. And that gets boring after a while, unless someones a barca fan ofcourse.

As I said in the Spanish football thread, Messi will finish this season with well over 60 club goals, who knows he may even hit 70. That is absolutely mind-boggling.

Safe to say we are blessed to be witnessing, week in, week out, someone who will go down as the greatest ever to play the game. That said, I still suspect that he might need a World Cup for Argentinians to consider him their greatest ever player, and even that might not be enough!

In general, its a great time to be a sports fan, Messi, Barca, Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Woods, Mcilroy, Tendulkar etc, its a rich era.

Lionel Messi take a bow son.

No one has ever scored more goals for Barca and he is 24, he is going to crush so many more records if he keeps this up. Not sure if he will become the greatest ever, if he had been Spanish he would have been the greatest already.
