I was about to say the same when I saw his performance yesterday.
Absolutely unbelievable. Ronaldinho, Henry, Ronaldo in their prime is still no match for this little wizard. I have never seen someone this good before.
Right now he is 2 levels ahead of the next best player

Don't worry, the Barca fans are no doubt having the same fest over Eboue.

I honestly don't think Messi can be stopped, especially with our instability at the back.
I also wonder which Bendtner will show up, the Hat-trick hero or the blundering bafoon. We will have chances and we have to take them.
Arshavin has a chance to show Europe what he is capable of. Will he take it?

He's the best ever like omg, they're going to beat us 5-0 with him assisting and scoring all the goals.
A nice early bone crunching Campbell challenge and he's gone into his shell hopefully.

Those who are saying Clichy will have Messi in his pocket in a few days are obviously 100% biased. When Messi is on form he is the best player on the planet. End of. Less petulant and more of a team player than Ronaldo, creates more and needs less assistance than Rooney. He might not have played well against English sides before but a lot of that has to do with the fact that Ashley Cole is the best LB around and if Clichy can copy Cashley and run with him and disrupt him rather than lunge in we could get something.

We should just kick the ball in our own goal and walk off the pitch.
This thread is unbelievable

What is unbelievable about thinking that we need to have a plan on how to defend against Messi? What I find unbelievable is that our manager, and apparently many fans, never wants us to pay special attention to certain players. We have done exactly that with Drogba for the last 4 years, hasn´t worked very well has it?
And Messi is a couple of classes above Drogba when it comes to class.

No matter how good you think he is, you would have to admit that opening a thread about it a week before we play Barca is not the wisest thing.

You could use a dictionary mate or even a thesauras. It helps you find a word relevant to a situation and expand your vocabulary. Here the word "spineless" does not suit the situation.
I would say it is a bit embarrassing to use such a word to describe a thread about the best footballer out there. This is an online football forum.

lol, good try, but next time you attempt to be sanctimonious, it's 'thesaurus'
What I was basically saying, seeing as you need it spelled out for you, is that you sound like a bottler and that ibby was right in suggesting you need to grow a pair.

this thread comes off the back of him scoring back to back hattricks in la liga, and getting a brace against Stuttgart in the CL. Not simply because we were drawn against them. We've had similar ones about C Ronaldo and Drogba, and Messi is much more talented and likeable than either. So I can't see why Delboy is being criticized so.
I admire the kid and appreciate his footballing skills/abilities, which are, as has been rightly noted, out of this world. When we play against Barca, we are all going to be hoping he plays like ****, and we whup their arses big time, but it doesn't mean I can't/ shouldn't appreciate a truly great footballer when I see one.

Precisely, "We can't really stop him at this rate.." sounds so defeatist.

According to Wiki, Messi has almost as many goals in the last two seasons (72) as Cassano has in his entire career (73).
