Kalou (if he gets his naturalization for Holland) has a better chance of going to the WC with the Dutch (if picked)
So much for THAT prediction. The Dutch better start printing Kalou's passport - or they're not going to get him. I suspect that the real reason he wants to play for Holland is get his EU/Dutch citizenship locked in so he's got that squared away and can then feel free to move on to a better playing league than the Dutch - eg the Spanish or English league where there are restrictions on number non-EU players.
So if the Dutch aren't going to give him citizenship now, then he might decided he's better off starring in the world cup for Cote D'Ivoire, generating a big money move and dealing with citizenship later.
You'd have not said what you said, if you'd realized that in the past 4 years Cameroun has been misfiring and underwhelming, while the young but experienced Cote D'Ivoire has been growing leaps and bounds. Almost all those guys played together as youth players in the excellent ASEC Abidjan youth academy. Their time was coming! It's here now.
And you're best advised not to go anywhere near a betting parlour or bookie!!

Great prediction USArsenal, don't quit your day job.
This guy looks very promising, however we already have a number of promising players, we need a man who is experienced right now.

He said that he will never play for Ivory Coast. His choice is for a lifetime, not for a WC. The passport case now will be decided by a judge on 25 November. And if they look at the law, and the people in the past, that got their Dutch passport because of talent reasons. I think should be likely that he gets his Dutch passport.

A **** translation from the internet....
'Salomon Kalou to Arsenal'
Eurosoccer know you today excluding to report that Salomon Kalou possible all this winter to Arsenal verkast, this have we learnt from a very trustworthy source within Feyenoord. Kalou must Rewarded will follow in Thierry Henry.
Kalou broke previous season definitively through by Feyenoord and was glanced off nearby already transfers to Valencia and PSV, both however off. Kalou self wanted not to Valencia because he gladly to PSV moved. Feyenoord's technical manager suspend that however a stick for because he a competitor not more strongly wished to make.
Now that Kalou appears earned to have thus really its toptransfer. For a sum of maarliefst 19 (!) million Euros plus the Dutch talent Quincy Owusu-Abeyie two year on rent basis will the 19-birthday Ivoriaan the change to Rewarded will make. Clubs appear to be from it already, only the player and Arsenal self must yet till an agreement come. It is however not known or the operation in the winter or in the summer till becomes voltooid.
Also will both clubs all a solution found for the in the Premiership of application zijnde regulate that a player of outside the EU the last 2 year 70% of the competitions as international had to play can get around. Kalou is names body yet no 20 year and then can there via the FIFA a solution for be found so that Kalou really can play. Moreover is expected that the Ivoriaan after the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS of coming summer in Germany the Dutch identity will receive.
Regarding Quincy if I understood that correctly is that a 2 year loan deal to Feyenoord?

you could be right, i mis-read that. in that case it isn't a bad deal. we get kalou for a fair sum (about £12mil i think), plus quincy get's first team football (he'll be taking over kalou's position).
although it does say (i think) he's joining in winter, but then it says he'll get his dutch nationality in summer - surely he wouldn't move before getting his dutch nationality, or has he changed his mind with IC getting to the world cup?

If this guy is as good as he is made out to be 12 mil plus quincy for two years sounds brilliant. Can anyone who has seen him play regularly describe (1) his style of play (2) his strenghs and weaknesses (3) whether they feel he will gel with Henry and (4) where they see him fitting in the pecking order once Bergy has gone.

I see him play every week.
(1) Style of play: Salomon is very fast and agile, good dribbler, showing loads of skill, goes past defenders like Romario, can play a passing game, can play anywhere up front. At Feyenoord he either plays RF or CF in 4-3-3. Wouldn't let him play RM in 4-4-2.
(2) Strengths: pace, amazing skill, heading, very good shot, scores goals
Weeknesses: defending (apart from defensive headers), sometimes continues his action too long, say he has an option to give a good pass after he went past two defenders but he opts for going past the third. His finishing could be more accurate. Sometimes he scores a beauty form 25 meters out, but the next time he fails to score from a good chance. His performances can be patchy, sometimes it seems he disappears a while in the match. His crossing can be improved.
So far we had long periods in which he showed all his strengths and played very welll and scored lots of goals (20 in 27 matches last season) and shorter ones like the last couple of matches in which his weeknesses showed. One thing is for sure he will be a worldclass striker. He is much better than his brother Bonaventura who used to play for Feyenoord and now plays for Paris Saint Germain and Ivory Coast.
(3) Think he'll gel with any other striker, so also with Henry.
(4) Don't know it's hard to say how Kalou, van Persie, Lupoli, etc will develop. He might need a few months to settle and get used to the EPL game.

Is he left or right footed.. I also rate this guy very highly and would be far better option than Quincy.. This deal would only make sense if Quincy would move in the opposite direction, as these 2 players are very similar in terms of where they play... I'd be very happy if we got hold of him and Tony Adams also would have had a good look at him aswell, so if this is the case I'm sure Adams would have recommeneded him to Arsène although everyone is aware of his talent...
I feel he will need to develop his strngth but he is still young..

I hope this is true. He's looked quality whenever I've seen him play. The way he moves and dribbles reminds of our Thierry

I'm not exagerating when I say Kalou is a better dribbler than Henry. Kalou can do what Romario used to do, dribble straight to goal no matter what's in front of him.

Yep, and there's something else he also does what Romario did when the opponent attacks: pretending to be relaxing/dreaming away a bit, but actually sharply watching the game and just
before 1 of his teammates won the ball, he was gone (and a step ahead). He must have watched a lot of Romario footage.

I wouldn't put too much credit on the report but i do believe something is going on.... i don't like the idea of quincy loaned out for 2 years, 1 would be alright.
I watch Kalou every week, he's very skilled and can become one of the greats but he still has a lot to learn.

There have been talks before about loaning Quincy to Feyenoord, last year, but Arsenal wouldn't let him go.

Wenger was in the stands today at feyenoord-vitesse. I think he came to watch hossam ghaly, but he could have been there for kalou, kuit or even castelen. It's interesting that wenger came personally on a day at which he could have watched manc-chelsea.....

if wenger was at a game to watch a player, he must be seriously interested, as he would first get reports from his scouts, then his head scout, then watch match tape before watching a player himself. however with kalou's passport problems it may be a pre contract (like chelsea signing Robben outside the window). Could go through in the summer as kalou is hoping to play in the world cup. Not the impact signing in january we all hoped for then
