I would eat my hat if Wenger was there to watch Kuyt. No chance if you ask me!
I hope it ws Kalou....he is one potentially brilliant player.

It would be more like Wenger to be sitting watching a game in Holland while trying to sign someone elsewhere. We all know Wenger was at the Feyenoord game..but where was David Dein?
Wenger also made it known to the press he would be going to watch a game somewhere else in Europe.
Maybe the Feyenoord visit was a diversion .

I wouls have thought Arsène would be looking at Kalou.. Arsène was interested in SWP and Robinho in the Summer so based on this it seems logical that he would be now seriously considering Kalou.. Personally I hope so, Ifeel Kalou is far more talented than SWP and he would be far more suited to the premiershp than Robinho....
It seems that Feyenoord have some seriously talented young players at the moment

Palmer tips Ghaly, indirectly, and given the comments I've heard about him and the little I've seen of him, I hope he was put right off...

Palmer is a clueless idiot, every source in Holland says Wenger was there for Kuijt.

Yep, and there's something else he also does what Romario did when the opponent attacks:
pretending to be relaxing/dreaming away a bit, but actually sharply watching the game and just before 1 of his teammates won the ball, he was gone (and a step ahead). He must have watched a lot of Romario footage.
I remember Romario's ability to do that. He always seemed like he was loafing, but turned up in the right place at the right time, even on aerial balls. Its was uncanny - and it was no coincidence. He was 100% focused when he was on the field.
That
mental undertstanding of the game is sorely missing in today's game. All these kids think its all about tricks and flicks. A monkey can do ball tricks if you give him a ball and enough time. Its the
mental part that makes you a super star!

Indeed.
Romario never turned up for training, but scored 35 goals a season, because he was focused, talented and a winner.

That's true but most of the sources are based upon the opinion of a few pundits/reporters. Just saw a Kuijt interview at TV Rijnmond (local tv Rotterdam). Kuijt said he wasn't sure Wenger was there to watch him, but he would love to play for Arsenal. I'm not sure either about Wengers intentions.
BTW Wenger had a long talk with Adams during half time.

Yep Tony went to the right club to do some serious spy work. It's even better Feyenoord's Reserves, U19 and U17 are the best in Holland. At the moment Feyenoord Youth academy is producing better players than Ajax's.

Adriano's very very good at doing that. Totally different player of course, but Adriano is a master at standing around in EXACTLY the right place for the killer ball.

is it possible we could talk Kalou out of getting his Dutch passport? how much longer does he have to wait to get one? can he play right wing?

Kalou is going to court on the 25th of November, there's a minister here who won't give him an early passport whilst the ENTIRE country wants him to have it. So he's gotton an early court date to sort it out.
The outcome would be very influential on whether he is up to leaving feyenoord.... Is a passport granted, then he goes to the world cup for holland but has to stay at feyenoord, if it isn't he would have to wait another 2 or 3 yrs i think before he gets one and would have ears to leaving for a bigger club.
Wenger is presumable looking at kuit....but Kalou could be an outside option if his appeal fails....

Yes he can, he plays right wing quite a lot. But playing right wing in 4-3-3 which Feyenoord plays is different than playing right wing in Arsenal's 4-4-2-ish system. Imo Kalou shouldn't play right wing in 4-4-2. Kuijt could.

Why not? Kalou is quick, and is a great dribbler.

No defensive skills whatsoever, Lauren or Eboue will go crazy if Kalou plays in front of them.

We have long been linked to the Feyernoord starlet, and now that he will get his dutch passport (
Sky Sports Article) will we finally make a move for him. He has been one of the hottest young prospects for some time, but his passport has put a stop to any potential moves.
Kalou seems very much an Arsenal style player, and lets not forget Wenger did travel to watch a Feyernoord game not so long ago. Which i would not take lightly, as i cannot remember too many occasions if any where this has happened. No one can confirm of course who he was actually there to watch but thats why this is in the Rumour section.
The only thing i see as a problem is the signing of Walcott, who is a very similar player. But with this i would still love to see him in an arsenal shirt, he has awesome potential and after his next move, im sure we wont have much chance of landing him.

There is no guarantee he will get a Dutch passport.
The Council of State upheld the initial decision, but it's still Verdonk who has to make a new decision regarding Kalou, not the court. The court only checks whether the decision isn't disproportionate. In theory she could reject his appeal again.

We were after him a couple of moths ago. We have probably missed out on him now that Chelsea are interested unless RVP can talk some sense into him on international duty.
I am not sure we really need him now though. I see Reyes and Walcott as our future on thw wings.
