Gunners head N'Zonzi chase
Transfer battle to resume for Blackburn midfielderSky Sports understands that Arsenal are now leading the chase for Blackburn star Steven N'Zonzi. A host of clubs were chasing the Frenchman in January, with Stoke making a move to try and lure him from Ewood Park.Blackburn stood firm and the player was happy to stay until the summer and help with Rovers' battle against relegation. But it now seems that N'Zonzi is ready to move on at the end of the season, with a host of clubs ready to do
Sky Sports understands that N'Zonzi has moved towards the top of Arsène Wenger's wanted list following a string of excellent displays.Wenger is already a confirmed fan, with his interest first emerging when Arsenal were linked with the former Amiens man back in 2010.The Emirates boss has maintained an interest in the 23-year-old and it is believed the Gunners are now in pole position to land him. However, there is extensive interest in N'Zonzi with Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle all keeping tabs on him.

Big, tall, decent on the ball midfielder playing at Blackburn. A lot like Diaby, minus the injuries.
Doubt there's any truth to it unless we're dropping Diaby

Decent player but really not what we need. We need a playmaker.

Could see it if Song (last year of contract yeah?) or Diaby left.
Decent player from what I've seen....tall, physical, ball winning midfielder with decent on ball talent. Not really mobile though, which I still think we need to get the best out of Song.

Can play Defensive mid and CB can't he? Have been linked with him in the past too.
I think something like this is on with Frimpong's injury and Song probably going to African Nations. Knows the Premiership, young, versatile, won't be too costly, and would be happy to come in as a squaddy and push on.
Frimpongs injury and Song on African Nations duty is key here, we would only have Coquelin.

He's scored against us if I recall, in the 6-2.
Don't want him at all, nowhere near good enough.

I would love to see "this host of clubs chasing..", we get footballers out in a field somewhere, get the directors of football to chase them around and the first one to catch the player gets to sign him..

Watched him closely last night, breaks up play well but then undoes his good work with brainless passing.

Yeah I caught yesterday's game and honestly wasn't too impressed.
However I don't watch a lot of Blackburn so I don't want to read in to it too much.

Very average and a bit of an attitude, a player i wouldn't fancy when the going gets tough.

Wouldn't mind an N'Zonzi type of signing as cover for Song during African Nations, this and a high quality AM would be a good summer I think, alongside Podolski.

I like him, but its bit of a downer being linked with N'Zonzi now after links to M'Vila.

This. But say it quietly because he plays for Blackburn.

Sadly, this is the caliber of player that I'm expecting us to be going after this summer, again.

"Sky Sports understands that N'Zonzi has moved towards the top of Arsène Wenger's wanted list"
If N'Zonzi is near the top of Wenger's list I dread to think who is near the bottom

Good Lord, no!
I'd rather Coquelin get minutes.

This offseason started so brightly in terms of rumours: Podolski, M'Vila, Kagawa, Hazard, Sakho, etc.
Now it's turning back to the same depressing view like in the end of the last summer: Kalou, Odemwingie, Benayoun (OK, it turned to be good one), Rodallega and so on.
Harsh, but that's the reality.

No thanks, much better players than N'Zonzi out there. If we signed him within a year he would be a "deadwood" player.

so M'Villa has made noises about playing in England for a French manager yet we are linked to the relegated N'Zonzi no way can this be true?? we'd be better suited bidding for Tiote or Fellani if it has to be a player from a premiership team.
