He's not good enough for Arsenal. He's the sort of player I'd imagine Newcastle or Everton to sign.

Good player, see him as a younger but better version of Yossi.

He's very talented, enjoy watching him.
But I don't see any position in our side for him as a starter, and we have enough squad players. If he scored more goals I'm sure there'd be more interest from bigger sides.

Could see him improving with us and esp under Wenger. Plus it would mean the end of Diaby at Arsenal because there would be no reason to keep him around. Personally I would want Hazard/Gotze but I think Dembele is a more realistic alternative.

He's got shades of Nasri about him. Very pleasing to watch, way too little end product for a top side.

Not enough end product. So no thanks.

Would be a good squad player, technically very good, brilliant dribbling, as someone else said I could see him taking his level up a notch under old Wengs.

Where's his favored position? Seen him a few times and he seems to drift a bit. Cheers.

I have seen him mostly play CAM and some sort of striking position.
Good dribbler but somehow you don't get the impression that he has fight in him and will stand up and be counted when the going gets tough and for that reason I'm not too keen on him. 53 appearances with 6 goals and 2 assists in all competitions for Fulham is underwhelming. Gervinho who's struggling from post African Cup complications has 4 goals and 7 assists in 27 appearances.

Actually an apt comparison, not sure how well he would fare at our AM position as he excels more in dribbling then passing.
Talented player but not a good fit for our AM.

I rate him very highly, even more so after seeing him first hand at the Emirates back in November.
Gotze is still the one that everyone is desperate for us to sign, but with Rosicky's rejuvenation and the Ox's emergence, can we still justify spending £30m on him? Dembele might be the more realistic and practical option, I think he's got the makings of a real player.

Don't rate him at all. He keep dribbling but doesn't even creates anything, or score much.

So he's another Hleb? I don't know much about him but I read he's highly rated in some quarters.
If I had to choose from the Fulham squad I would take Dempsey, he's having a stormer this season.

Yep. I would take Demsey too. Very effective. Heck I would even take Ruiz ahead of Dembele.
I think he is worse than Hleb, he doesn't even pre-assist or links up play. He dribbles alot to dead end.

Dempsey would have been perfect for this season.

He's like a consistent-ish Diaby on a good day.

He's talented and one of my favourite players in the league to watch but he is not productive enough yet to play at a team that wants to win honours.

I rate him, but he's more the attacking midfielder-AMC, not the playmaker-AMC we need.
We won't win trophies with Dembelé or Dempsey. We need some real quality in the (second) most important position in our tactics, the AMC.

I struggle to see where Dempsey would play here - though that's not stopping people from clamoring about him.
He would be wasted on either wing as pace and delivery aren't his forte, while he has never played as a lone striker. Really the only fit for him would be as our AM which isn't a bad shout in games where we dominate possession as Dempsey is most effective close to goal. But in more open games I don't think he would be a good fit as tracking back and playing defense isn't his game.
Be a decent fit for games where we need a goal and are comfortable in possession as he's a great head of the ball.

He has played up front alone on a few occasions and looked comfortable there. He's just a very rounded player which means he can play a number of positions to a good level. I don't think he would be a huge star for us but i reckon he would be very useful because he has an eye for goal and we need more players pitching in.
However i'd only want him if he was to be used as a back-up striker who can offer something slightly different (i suppose a more physical presence basically) to RvP and of course we could use him in a few other positions. His movement and finishing are both at an excellent level and if we could get him for a decent fee i'd be all over it. But if its only as an AM/LW option then i wouldn't really want him.
As for Dembele, its a hard one to call. Would have similar question marks as other posters but he's very talented so you never know how good he could be.

Yeah, Dempsey would have been a good addition to this 'transition' season of ours. Another, proven, goal-scoring option for the AMC position. For certain games (ones we dominate) he'd be a great short-term solution.
Back to Dembélé... talented but not ready for us.

I know he roasted Song the two times we played this season. I see him as a better version of Hleb, better because he's an even better dribbler and has great strength. I actually think he's the best dribbler in the prem. He consistently opens space up with his good feet which can lead to dangerous offensive situations. He also has pretty decent passing and vision. Massive con though is that he doesnt assist or score enough. That's why he plays in central midfield for Fulham these days (good and brave move by Jol) where he can feed more penetrative players. I think he can get much better from the point of view of scoring and assisting. At this stage would be a great squad player that can become something more and would be worth it if his price reflects that i.e. no highter than 12-15 million.

I do agree but we've lost Hleb and Nasri why do we need a return to their style? I'd rather a more incisive player in the role.

To be fair, even Coloccini roasted Song. I like Dembele, but I don't think we should sign players with gaping holes in their game. We already lack true world class quality, so signing players who still need to develop their game isn't a wise decision.

Song does get roasted quite a lot of times. I read a stat somewhere, I now can't find it, where Song is 'dribbled past' more times than any other player in the league except one. Can't verify it but from just watching every Arsenal, that stat wouldn't surprise me.
Add to that the amount of silly fouls he concedes (relative to the few tackles he makes) then we really do need a defensive midfielder at the club. Song's talents lie further up field.

Had another look at him yesterday. I think as a CM (in a 3) he'd be really interesting because in that position there would be less pressure to score and assist. His defensive game is better than I thought. I think technically he's just remarkable really, his balance and dribbling are out of this world. On the other hand, I would say jack and Diaby - who I guess would be the guys most comparable - are competent dribblers themselves and offer more stamina wise (Jack) and goal threat wise (Diaby).
I'd still have him in the squad, but I imagine he'd be overpriced.

I like him and he could be a versatile player in the squad. He can play as a striker, a offensive midfielder and a winger. But he lacks a bit of end product and it always takes ages for him to release the ball.

Very neat and tidy player but too much of a throwback to Hleb for my liking. He is too good for Fulham though.
