Excited for this actually. I think Wolves are condemned to relegation no matter what the result, i hope to see a good performance along with 3 points.

I can't watch this live tonight so I'm going to have to try and block out all media until I can get home for the replay...
Hopefully we can get a couple of early goals, RVP is surely due a brace or at least a goal. Really hope Theo is up for it and I'm also hoping Wenger will start Ox on the left.
Benny is valuable on the bench as we might need to sub Rosicky in the second half - not sure if he has 90 minutes in him so soon after the City game. Benny can play all over midfield and on the wings, so I'd keep him on the bench as a first option if needed.
This is Wolves after all. What is to say that Karl Henry won't put his studs to someone's knee inside 5 minutes?

Is there a reason RVP hasn't been scoring lately? Is he playing deeper than normal? Or is he just putting more effort into getting other players to score/ assisting?
Either way he is definitely due some goalage sometime soon, hopefully against Wolves.

He'd have scored vs City, had Verms not cleared Robin's header off City's line, or the goal post denied another chance of his in the second half.
Robin has just been a bit unlucky recently.

RVP has still come close to scoring recently, the things that have got in the way were either the post(his header vs ManCity), his own teammate(Verms), not staying onside long enough(his ruled out goal vs ManCity).
But he could also be just a little tired as his run of goalscoring form was still all in demanding games and tailing off a bit in front of goal can happen, but once he gets one back he'll feel re-energised over it

Against Man City - van Persie's header hit the post, then another chance hit Verm on to Man City's crossbar and then his goal which was offside. He's been unlucky.

His head has been turned by City and he refused to score against them - sell the bottling bastard!!!
Nah, he's just been a bit unlucky.

Could have had 4/5 goals in the last few games, Robin, chances have been there.

He's missing a sitter in most games, would be shocked if he didn't hit the net in the next two.
Really important match, hopefully the players have learned from QPR and other away games where we were awful.

It made me chuckle though.

I think it's time for me to get some sleep so I can wake up early (4:15am kick off!).

Of course we should win this, but for a few years now I'm always worried about us playing teams, which have been on a poor run of form. Hope we've matured enough to win this, always tricky playing a team fighting for survival.

my opinion is that he hasn't looked as sharp as he was, everything seems a little bit more labored, i think he's started to feel the full effects of carrying our entire scoring burden for this season and being our main man, i don't fault him one bit and besides, he defo has been a bit unlucky.

I think he's been very unlucky. Had one chance cleared off the line against Villa I think, one freak clearance off the line by Verms against City with one more off the post in the same game. Still looks very sharp to me.

When was the last time we looked remotely convincing away from home this season?
Wigan?
Our away performances scare me a little at the moment, we have easily enough to win the games, but I'm definitely not confident.

You cant argue he has been unlucky in recent weeks, but his finishing has been slighlty off form at times as well.
Should have scored against QPR, he had one or two great chances at Everton to finish them off and failed and he really should have been doing better with that header against City.
Nothing to be concerned about though, as the wise man says it when stikers arnt getting chances you need to be concerned.
At least a brace tonight, maybe a hat-trick.

Just looked back over the fixtures and your right mate, 3rd of December since we had a convincing away performance. You could maybe say the City game at Eithad where we put in a good performance against a team in form but in the end it was still a loss.
Need to rectify it tonight, and im sure it hasnt gone unnoticed by AW either.

Norwich away was a good performance, and if Gervinho could finish we would've been four nil up by half time. Everton was the only other example I can think of. But you're right - we've dropped a lot of points away from home this year.

Can't afford to rest players. We should start like against City.. if we get a bit more lucky we can score a few and then rest players after 60 minutes or so.
If we start slow and don't score in the first half, they could get more confident and actually think they could get a decent result.

I think this game won't be decided soon enough, so that we can think about resting players midway through it. It'll most probably be a tough battle, once again.
We tend to make opposition sides look better than they are, away from home.

He's the one sub who should be given a chance to start because he won't be detrimental to the performance unlike some of our other subs so there is no reason why he can't start.

I think he'll see this match as a relatively easy game and thus a good opportunity to start Gervinho. Personally I'd rather see the Ox or Benayoun start instead, but I think Gervinho will.

Hasn't Wenger already confirmed that Gerv is going to miss this due to an ankle injury?

Yes, Gervinho is out for this game. I actually think we will see Ramsey on the left (

), which seems to be Wenger's recent choice for tight away games like Everton and QPR.

Yep, wouldn't be surprised to see Ramsey starting wide left and Benayoun in the centre in place of Rosicky, who'll get a break I assume.

Ramsey does seem destined to start on the left. I'm actually not that confident, to be honest. A score draw seems on the cards.

If Tommo is rested I think he will play Ramsey in the middle with Ox on the left.
If Tommo starts, I actually have no idea who will start left. Should be the Ox could be Rambo, Ive given up trying to second guess AW on this topic.

if we don't have an established back four the rest of the team has to be non-experimental e.i song arteta rosicky walcott rvp and either benayoun or AOC.
no ramsey on the left, if he wants game time it should be in the middle not out of postion.

Oh I see, I thought you were saying that The Ox would be detrimental to the team against better quality opposition.
Fair play, I want The Ox to start this one. He's had his rest - let's see him play!
