By who gives a ****, i meant who gives a **** about mis-spelling Chamakh not who gives a **** about more general grammar skills as i can understand why it's frustrating though if someone spells Wilshere Wiltshire, i'm not going to bollock them as it's only a name and you don't bollock people for mis-spelling other words like definitely. If you do, that makes that person a **** in my eyes.

Sorry for the swears.

What about mis-spelling 'Arsenal'? Trust me I've seen it, in thread titles no less, and changed it to the correct spelling.

That is the reason why so many of our players have nick names - I stay clear of Sneezys correct name for this exact reason :)

"Pedant" is a person who is "pedantic". As a result, your thread title about pedants being pedantic is slightly inaccurate. Unless you mean the thread is about the people being pedantic and not about the grammatical issues themselves. In which case, continue.

Right, I've noticed a sh!t load of semi-colons appearing, as if being sold on the cheap somewhere.... I've also noticed they're replacing the comma and full-stop in some case's. I'm not losing sleep over it or anything, but these things shouldn't be fcking trendy! It's not just here either - it's all over the internet. How does this happen? I remember a time when, if you saw a semi-colon, you'd make wish....

I also remember when nobody would dream of starting a sentence with 'And' or 'But' (not that it's grammatically incorrect) and now there's fragmented sentences all over the internet. That happened about 18 months ago, and almost overnight, I recall.

Where and why the **** do these things start? And please don't tell me you haven't noticed!

It's a shame and a tad strange that you deleted that reply to my last post, Ant, as I genuinely wanted to comment on it. Don't worry, I wasn't going to pull you up on your glaring, well-timed misuse of the......semi-colon in it either!

Nobody's perfect - I was just hoping someone could shed some light on where or how these trends start. Have you noticed those I'm talking about?

Oh, and it's ok to be pedantic here, as we're in the right fred.

I'm a massive culprit of this; I've been trying to introduce the semi-colon into my lexicon.

That sentence is true but have I used the semi-colon correctly?

You've clearly got the idea; both parts are independent clauses that are closely related in theme. You could have also got away with a full-stop without getting your door kicked off at 5:00am by Markstar in a gimp mask.

I'm faaaar from perfect, but this is the place to talk bollocks with impunity, and maybe pick up a few bits of useless rubbish along the way... So here we are!
