Two days ago RvP and then Piers Morgan attacked Gazidis for being on holiday.
The club through communications director Mark Gonella denied he is on holiday.
Yet we have heard nothing from Gazidis about the three major events that have taken place since.
1) the RvP statement
2) the R&W letter
3) the cancellation of the much vaunted Nigeria tour
Did Gonella lie? If not where is Gazidis and why is he not seen to be acting?
This is not primarily about whether he has chosen to take time off, to which he is entitled just like anyone else, at an inopportune moment. This is about whether the club even lie to us about relatively straight forward things like the holiday plans of senior employees.
I doubt I'm the only one who is consistently frustrated by the lack of transparency and information from the club. The Kroenke loan was a real shocker to hear about from a third party, but if they are blatantly lying something is seriously wrong.
Thoughts?

The board treat the supporters with contempt.
Reading Hill Woods comments last season showed how totally out of touch he was with the supporters, and Kroenke is just a businessman who is only interested in making a profit, without having to invest any of his own money.
These parasites seem to forget that without the supporters there would not be a football club.

I'm sorry Ricky, wherever he is, but I now have nightmares of his ambitious and praiseworthy posts in reference to Gazidis when the man first arrived.

The current board's demise is inevitable, its just a question of when it all begins.
Lets hope this is the beginning of the end.

Nobody knows. Possibly the clubs finances don't stretch to a postcard allowance.
I suppose we will just have to take Mark Gonella's word for it and assume the van Persie camp just fabricated the story. After all Arsenal would never lie to us.

Helps sell players to the club he supported as a child - Manchester City.

No idea, but what I've gathered from reading this board, he spends most of his time fisting Arsenal fans while laughing at their displeasure.

Thought someone might have insight into what the responsibilities of someone in general in his position at a football club are...

Haha, sorry, I wasn't responding to your question, I was asking how anyone could reliably know if Gazidis is back from holiday or not.
But as far as your question is concerned - I believe Gazidis handles the majority of transfer/contract dealings, as well as commercial opportunities.

General management of the club ie. Finances, the direction of the club in general, PR, legal stuff and so on.

tim payton @timpayton
Just been liaising with Ivan Gazidis who is very much working in Highbury House. As ever he is keen to keep in touch with fans & AST views
tim payton @timpayton
Also don't quite get why RvP says Ivan is away on hols when AST will meet him next week to give feedback from AST meeting on Monday night

He's not even on holiday, this is pure spin and bullsh*t from Robin. This c*nt is worse than Nasri or Adebayor and I hope he spends the rest of his career injured or on the bench. Van Persie is scum.

When Podolski signed his contract with Arsenal earlier this week, Ivan Gazidis wasn't there when Podolski signed the contract. It was Ken Friar who was there with Podolski, it's on a free video on the Arsenal website. I would have thought it meant Gazidis was busy or away.

Don't understand as to why we haven't terminated our shirt sponsorship deal, considering how little we are making financially compared to for example L'pool, who receive about four or five times as much as us.

Because that's not how one should run a business in my opinion. Putting aside the moral virtues (or lack thereof) of using Usmanov's money and whether Arsenal need to get down anddirty like the rest in that regard, Arsenal should not be seen as a club/company that doesn't honour contracts.
There is a reason our sponsorship deals are crap at the moment and when they come for renewal they will be increased to match our worth.

Oh he's on holiday all right, what Arsenal will do is say it's a business trip all expenses paid.
RVP was obviously having a dig because they were trying to stall him and he wasn't having it.
Fair play to him on that one, the board are acting in a disgusting misleading mannor to players and the fans, they bury their heads in the sand and think problems will just go away because they don't want anything to rock their little piggy bank.

He has obviously been away but should be coming back early after the rvp statement, ken friar is a director and its a bit odd that he would do the signing if ivan was about.

It is surprising that he hasnt said anything re the last few days comments. Maybe he is in the middle of completing the M'Vila deal or something similar that would make us fans happy and defuse the situation?

Well there we go, its just plain lies from van Persie. That should prove to everyone that RVP is trying to harm the club.
Ivans perfectly capable of running the club into the ground from Islington without having to go on holidays.

@Dandare, it's not as if we had it for a couple of years, in fact we had this deal for almost a decade. There's a huge disparity between what Chelski,Manure,Pool earn and what we earn now. We're potentially losing out £££ by operating in such way, by terminating a deal now and getting a a similar deal to those clubs in place we may more than cover up the cost for te termination charge(within a year). Not sure how this is not how to operate a business considering those points.
