M'Baye Niang

Skysports.com understands Arsenal have entered the race for France's latest teenage sensation M'Baye Niang.

Niang is regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe after breaking into the Caen first-team last season at the age of 16.

The 6ft frontman only made his first-team debut in April and scored three goals in seven games.

His emergence has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe with Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool all credited with an interest in Niang.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have also made an enquiry for Niang with Real's director of football Zinedine Zidane hoping to lure the youngster to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real are thought to have offered Caen €11million for Niang and are ready to loan him back to the Ligue 1 outfit as they look to win the race for his signature.

However, Arsenal have expressed an interest in Niang, with Gunners boss Arsène Wenger keen to bring the forward to the Emirates.

Wenger is believed to have made an enquiry to Caen manager Franck Dumas to be kept informed on Niang's situation and he is hoping his French connections will help in his bid to sign the youngster.

The Frenchman has shown at Arsenal his talent for unearthing and developing young players with potential and he could now move for Niang before the close of the transfer window.

I don't mind these youngster signings as long as they also spend on some first teamers.

M'Baye Niang, who plays for Caen will be having a trial with Arsenal during pre-season.

One thing is certain, if French clubs are strapped for cash, the English have a little more. Thus, M'Baye Niang is expected to join the Premier League. The 17 year old striker will make a test soon at Arsenal. And the Gunners are not alone in the running.

Wow, apparently he's a fantastic prospect. Really pleased if he's coming to Arsenal.

This is the same kid who finished leading scorer at some youth championships and is considered an immense talent? Compared to eto'o.

Going to be an interesting battle between him an Afobe to make the first team if he joins.

Heard nothing but good things about this kid, seems as if he is the real deal. If he's as good as everyone says I don't see afobe and Campbell troubling him too much.

''Niang prefers to start his runs on either flank, especially the left, before cutting inside and using his pace and power to maximum effect"...

Over 6ft, pace and strong upper body strength, his idol is our titi.

Lots of young African strikers about, but this is the kid who is considered an out of this world talent.

I'd be all for this one. Big time talent. With the state of our club right now we have to get our star players before they're stars.

If he looks as good in his trial as many suggest he is its a no brainer. Would surely be loaned right back out, maybe to Caen as part of the deal.

Great piece on him from Jamie Sanderson last year:

I hope we have another, more experienced, striker to sign as well if RvP leaves.

BUT, he sounds like a very decent player who, physically especially, is capable of playing in the Premier League. Exciting, hope it happens.

Down the left eh?

Niang--Afobe--Campbell

Looks like a very well rounded group of attackers coming through, there's still Wellington and Ryo too who both like the LW. Hopefully we shouldn't have the trouble we've had recently at filling the LW spot properly.

Niang looks tall and pacey. It only took him few strides to recover the ball. TBH he doesn't look like a youngster aged at 16, 17. From some random videos on the net, the kid can do intelligent off-ball running and set himself in scoring position. His teammates know his attribute and keep knock the ball behind defenders. Some cool finishes from him as well.

I know this may sound far-fetched as I know nothing about French language. But Niang 'sounds' like a lovely kid. :D

Hope this guy impresses and we sign him up. Can never get too much young talent.

Kind of a moot point but Dongou is supposed to be the real business.

That Coulibaly guy at spuds doesn't look too bad either.

According to my sources Arsenal regard him as a definite purchase and are saying he has the potential to be an important player for the first team.

I actually would not mind him as an understudy for our senior strikers. Campbell didnt get a work permit and was loaned again, Afobe is going out on loan aswell. If he is as impressive as people are saying then it wouldnt hurt to try.

He is built like a monster though, cant believe he is 17. 6'0 so good height also, might even grow some more.

This kid or whoever, about time we had a pacy striker with good movement and finishing ability, again.

This guy is an immense talent, more than Afobe or Campbell. Would be superb if we managed to sign him. We have a tendency to screw up trials though. Yaya Toure, Sigborsson, Ibra etc
