Very sad to hear. Career cut way too short, top guy and everyone I've ever heard talking about him said he is one of the most kind people they know.

Such a shame.. Extremely unfortunate chain of events for him, but life & family first, football second. I know he was thinking about trying to come back, but the doctors made the right call..

Good luck to him in his future endeavors, maybe he can get some work as a coach or scout or something.

I think he'll still have a very rich, fulfilling life ahead of him. While I would never wish his injury upon anyone, it was amazing to see the unified support between the football community last year.

Best of luck Muamba!

From the glass half full POV, he's started his early 20s with a huge injection of cash and can easily go forward and do whatever he wants in business and a lot of other fields too.

Good luck, bro.

Sad news, really feel for the guy. But the most important thing is his health and well being, and in the very least he still has that, whereas others have unfortunately not been so lucky.

Wish him all the best.

This was always on the cards really so im sure he had prepared himself for this news, sure he's going to be gutted nonetheless mind you.

All things considered, Fabrice can count himself as fortunate, he's still here for his wife, kid and parents, at one stage it was feared his name would join those of Antonio Puerta, Marc Vivian Foe etc.

Health > Football

Sensible decision from him, he's father of a young son and husband of a wife, it would be stupid to act against the advice of his doctors.

Its a pity but he'll do alright for himself anyway. Might even get a job at Arsenal some day.

Muamba's a smart guy, he will figure something out for himself. Football isn't everything, and I'm happy he came though all of this relatively okay. Things could have turned out much much worse.

Best of luck Fabrice.

Its sad news indeed but he's alive and well now and thats all that really matters.

I think Bolton want to give him a job at their club too, which doesnt suprise me.
