Signed. This is well and truely deserved. The man will always be a Highbury legend, i still get the shivers when his name is sung.
Those two comments mentioned are disgusting, only the work of a scummer.

you always get mindless comments like that on anonymous petitions.
anyway, why do we need a petition? surely arsenal know every gooner would be up for this, regardless of whether we make our feelings known on some online petition.

Lets ignore these mindless pieces of Scum and concentrate on what the actual topic is...........
David Roacastle, a great man and a proud Arsenal Legend.
Lets get this man the testimonial he deserves, and raise some money for such a good cause.
I think it would be fitting for the final ever game at Highbury to be
David Rocastles testimonial, what a way to honour the man and the final game.
Come on boys sign up.

Just signed it, even though I never got to see Rocky play. Just in old video footage. How could I not sign the petition though!?

I don't get it. Is this Rocky Rocastle from our forum? If so, it says that he died on March 31st 2001 but he was in this forum like until this year. Which David Rocastle is it? I'm confused

My initial reaction here would be to call you a complete muppet who does not deserve to be supporting Arsenal. And your really dont by asking that question.
Read the article on him in the legends section. I wrote it so its top stuff.

sh*te! My apologies people, but I have to be honest I never knew this guy up to until now. Deng..... based from what people said, he sounds like one kind of character. Must be a true legend indeed. Anyways, I already signed that pertition earlier on.

Rocastle day at Highbury on Saturday. Looking forward to that. These special days they have been doing at Highbury so far have been a bit **** but this one and the Dennis one for West Brom game sound like they should be good.

signed.
on the day that he died we played Spurs at Highbury and their fans observed the minutes silence perfectly. Rocky was well respected amongst football fans in general. Let alone it bringing it home that a 33 year old man with young kids could be struck down so quickly.
Our local rivals fans could manage to show their dignity back then. Those scummers that are taking the piss on the petition site have no idea what that means. And that is why they will always be living in our shadow.
Oh yeah, we won 2-0 that day as well. Bet he was smiling!

Maybe put a link up on the front page to my Rocky compilation I made a while ago. The one with a few goals and people talking and tearing up at the same time. Nothing illegal about that is there, if there is do it anyway!

check out this link. I was at many of teh games written about. I'm still choked after reading it. I remember hearing the news the morning he passed away. It was like losing a friend even though I barely met him. He really was one of us.
I wrote to the club a while back suggesting an award for the outstanding young player each year at the Academy to be made in his honour. Any backers for this idea. This years winner of the David Rocastle Trophy for most outstanding young player is...
While were at it let's not forget the great George Armstrong also taken at an early age while coaching his reserve side.

Was at the semi at Old Trafford a week later and as walked towards the ground a scummer pointed at me and shouted "Rocastle, he looks like Rocastle". Don't think I have ever felt more proud to be a Gooner as I did in that moment.
