Clement Grenier is once again being linked with a move to Arsenal – the Frenchman’s name has cropped up regularly over the last 18 months or so.

The fact Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering a bid for the Lyon midfielder is somewhat surprising given the 23-year-old’s current injury – Grenier hasn’t featured for the Ligue 1 outfit since playing 14 minutes in their Europa League qualification defeat against Astra Giurgiu way back in August.

Frederic Guerra, Grenier’s agent, was speaking to Tuttomercatoweb recently when he said: “Before his injury there were a number of clubs that were following him, some of whom are now looking at other options.

“They will probably have questions about his injury and could therefore think twice about rekindling their interest in January.

“He still has a month on rehabilitation [before he can play again].

“I know, however, that he is always followed by clubs from the Premier League.”

If Le Professeur does go ahead with the reported £12million move for Grenier, it will certainly frustrate Arsenal fans further, given Clement’s injury record and the fact the French international is another creative, attacking-minded midfielder.
