When scrolling through the (sometimes) wonderful worldwide web, and I come across Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil’s name, I instantly assume it is pointless and unfounded transfer rumours. However, during my recent procrastination-based surf of the net, I stumbled upon the news of Mesut Ozil agreeing an out-of-court settlement.

Naturally, this was always going to bring out a Carlo Ancelotti-esque raise of the eyebrow from me, however, my eyebrow wouldn’t rise high enough when I read further and realised that the court case was with Ozil’s own dad!

The wonderfully-named Mustafa Ozil, who has now been replaced as an advisor to the company by his other son Mutlu, was suing Mesut’s company for €630,000, a cut he believed, according to German media outlet Bild, that he was owed due to an Adidas deal the Arsenal midfielder signed shortly after joining the north London club.

Just imagine if your own father took you to court!
