Arsenal legend Bob Wilson has hailed AFC Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe as a possible replacement for Arsene Wenger when his time at the club comes to an end.

Wenger, who has managed Arsenal for 20 years is yet to sign a new deal with his current contract set to expire this summer. Some have predicted this as the 67-year-old’s final year as boss.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wilson believes Howe will be considered for the vacant job at The Emirates.

“Eddie would definitely be in the frame. I love the way Bournemouth play,” Wilson told the Bournemouth Echo.

“It’s very Arsenal-like, they play in a similar style, so it’s to be hugely admired. The job Eddie has done is extraordinary,” added the double winning Gunners ‘Keeper.

The Bournemouth boss has praised Gunners’ loanee Jack Wilshere for completely transforming his side.

“His quality on the ball, his technical ability, is second to none and I think he is so comfortable he’s made us a totally different team with the ball.”

The Cherries, with Wilshere commanding the midfield, sit 10th in the Premier League five points above the drop zone.

The two sides begin their stacked festive fixture list against one another. Arsenal host Bournemouth at The Emirates on Sunday.
