With just eight games left in the campaign, the Gunners will face three elite English clubs in the remainder of the season: Liverpool (H), Chelsea (H), and Manchester United (A). On April 4th, the Gunners will return from international break to clash with a weakened and battered Liverpool squad – which will be without Steven Gerrard or Martin Skrtel due to suspensions.

In their last meeting, Arsenal drew with Liverpool 2-2 at Anfield – conceding a 96th minute equaliser by Martin Skrtel. Suspended for three games by the FA for his stamp on David de Gea, Skrtel leaves an irreplaceable void in the Reds backline, likely to be filled by Kolo Toure.

The Gunners are currently on international break, leaving Le Professeur praying for no injuries to be picked up before the most important stretch in the Premier League this year. With a healthy roster, Arsenal can easily finish at least 2nd place this year – with a win over Liverpool on April 4th, the Gunners are practically cementing a top four finish in the league. Finding a way into Wenger’s starting XI is no easy task, here’s what the line-up should look like:

Keeper – Ospina

Defense – Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, and Monreal

Midfield – Ozil, Cazorla, Coquelin, and Sanchez

Forwards – Welbeck and Giroud

Personally, I believe Mesut Ozil turns from great to good when pushed out on the wing, but it’s hard to put him over Cazorla in the midfield. Santi Cazorla has been absolutely brilliant this season in the midfield with Francis Coquelin – no need for Wenger to mess up the great chemistry between the combo of Cazorla and Coquelin in the center. If Cazorla picks up an injury at any time during the rest of the campaign, Wenger should slide Ozil into the center and start Theo Walcott on the right wing, given that the Ox is still injured with his hamstring. Arsenal had six scheduled matches in the month of March and came away with six wins – great momentum to carry into the most difficult stretch of the year. Let’s keep in going, Come On You Gunners!

Why change the formation we’ve been using?
We’re not using the 442 you’ve put up.
It’s 4231, with Santi playing the deep playmaker.

I agree with the comment about Aaron, too.

Is Giroud playing for France, this Inter-break? He’s the one player we can’t cover, if he gets injured.

Ramsey is a definite starter for me.. Which means Özil might be pushed out wide. Also think Wenger will start Alexis, regardless of any fatique he may be feeling. Aside from that, Mertesacker, Monreal, Coquelin will be rested and ready to go. And Giroud can’t be dropped with the goalscoring form he’s in.

As long as Özil and Sanchez come back unscathed, I think it’ll be close to this:

    Keeper – Ospina

Defense – Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, and Monreal

    Midfield – Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla

    Forwards – Özil, Giroud, Sanchez

Bench: Szczesny, Gabriel, Gibbs, Flamini, Rosicky, Walcott, Chamberlain/Chambers
