Along with our usual dose of bad news on the injury front, Arsenal has received some good news regarding injuries as Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry are both close to returns. Wenger confirmed that both resumed first team training last week and I would bet Walcott makes the subs bench for Hull.

Walcott’s return is something I have earmarked long ago as a massive boost for Arsenal, so now that the time has come I am elated. His pace and movement is something we desperately need. Gnabry is a player I rate as well and he may find himself in a lucky position given the amount of injuries in the team. He began to stake his claim last season before his injury so will be keen to try to get back in the picture.

Ozil has been ruled out for ten weeks after an injury in Germany training, while Koscielny also pulled out of the France squad with injury, although no word has been given on how long he will be out for (reports say it’s minor and he should be fine for Hull). These add to Ramsey, Arteta, Giroud, and Sanogo who are already sidelined, and Wenger expressed his delight with the duo returning.

“Theo is not too far away now,” he said. “Serge has been out for a long, long time and Theo has also been out for nine months, so it’s good to see them back.

“They’ve worked very hard and they’re very dedicated. They are back in the group on a daily basis and that’s very good news.

October may have started off with a loss, but I am confident it will also be the month Arsenal hits a run of form and begins to show some consistency. I see a string of winnable games on the horizon and I expect Arsenal to take this opportunity to get the season back on track. Hull City, Anderlecht, and Sunderland round out the month, and from there I expect the team to kick on against Sunderland, Burnley and the return match against Anderlecht. The opening period of the season hasn’t been what we were expecting but with these two back in our ranks as well as Ramsey and Arteta close to returns as well, I expect October to be the catapult for Arsenal’s resurgence.
